Majorelle clothing review tweed mini dress

Last Updated on September 3, 2026 by Eve Dawes

Majorelle clothing first came onto my radar several years ago through Revolve. Its feminine dresses, romantic details and matching sets immediately appealed to me, but is Majorelle good quality, how does the sizing run and is it worth the price? After trying more than 20 Majorelle clothing pieces over the years, I’ve experienced both the hits and misses. Overall, I’ve found the quality to be good for the price point and, if anything, it keeps getting better. I also still wear several of my Majorelle dresses years later, so they’re not pieces that were worn once for content and then forgotten about. In this honest Majorelle clothing review, I’m sharing everything I wish I’d known before ordering, including the Majorelle size chart, how the clothing fits, which styles can be tricky and whether I think the brand is worth it. This Majorelle clothing review contains affiliate links, and all of the Majorelle pieces featured were gifted by Revolve. This does not affect my opinions. I only recommend pieces and brands I genuinely like and would wear.

Majorelle clothing review: The quick verdict

Majorelle clothing is best for feminine, romantic and statement-making styles rather than basics. Think lace mini dresses, flattering matching sets, embellished details, structured silhouettes and vacation-ready pieces.

After trying more than 20 styles, this is my overall verdict:

  • Quality: Generally good for the price and improving
  • Sizing: Usually true to size through the waist
  • Bust fit: Less predictable, particularly on structured or contoured styles
  • Petite-friendly: Yes, although maxi dresses and some straps may need altering
  • Best for: Dresses, matching sets, vacation outfits and occasionwear
  • Price: Worth it when you love the design and will rewear it; even better on sale
  • My usual Majorelle size: XXS–XS

The main fit issue I’ve encountered is in the bust. I have a narrow frame and fuller chest, so styles with molded cups or a very structured bust can be either too small in the cup or too loose elsewhere. The waist, however, is generally true to size for me.

What is Majorelle clothing?

Majorelle is a Los Angeles-based fashion label known for its girly, flirty, vintage-inspired and romantic aesthetic. The Majorelle clothing collection includes dresses, gowns, matching sets, tops, skirts, rompers, knitwear and occasionwear. The brand describes its aesthetic as a “romantic escape,” which is a fairly accurate summary. Many of its designs feel made for vacations, brunches, parties, wedding events and destinations where you want something more memorable than an everyday dress.

I’m personally drawn to Majorelle clothing because the pieces are feminine without all looking the same. Depending on the collection, you’ll find everything from floaty lace dresses and polka dots to sharp blazer dresses, tweed minis and coordinated sets.

Is Majorelle clothing good quality?

In my experience, Majorelle clothing is generally good quality for the price, and I think the quality has continued to improve over the years. Several of my dresses are fully lined, and the better pieces have details such as substantial fabric, lace, ruffles, pearl buttons, gold-tone hardware and structured tailoring. My favorite dresses have also held up well enough that I still wear them years later.

The polka dot Brandi gown is a great example. I wore it in France, where I received so many compliments, and it still feels just as special every time I wear it. It still feels special and is one of the Majorelle dresses I reach for when I want something feminine and memorable.

The Ann Mini Dress is another style that has lasted beyond the trip I originally chose it for. I got the cream lace mini for Bali, but I still wear it back home in Las Vegas. The fact that it works in both places makes it much more versatile than it might initially appear.

There have been occasional misses. One pink bodysuit felt too thin for me, and I couldn’t find a bra that worked well underneath it. However, I haven’t experienced any standout quality problems with my more recent Majorelle clothing.

As with most contemporary fashion brands, the fabric and construction vary by design. I always check the composition, lining and customer fit notes on the individual product page rather than assuming every piece will feel identical.

How does Majorelle clothing fit?

Majorelle clothing generally runs true to size through the waist. I normally wear an XXS or XS depending on the design, and I typically stay within that size range when ordering from the brand. However, Majorelle sizing can be less consistent through the bust. Some dresses fit perfectly, while styles with contoured cups, underwire or structured bodices can run either small or large in the chest. If you have a narrow frame and fuller bust like I do, sizing up may fix the cup size but leave the waist, hips or shoulders too loose. For that reason, I’m more cautious with rigid bustier tops and dresses with fixed cups.

My Majorelle sizing advice is:

  • Order your usual size for styles without fitted cups or rigid bust construction.
  • Check the individual garment measurements rather than relying solely on the general size chart.
  • Read the customer fit rating on Revolve because sizing can vary by style.
  • Look closely at whether the fabric stretches.
  • If you’re between sizes, base your decision on the most fitted part of the garment.
  • Petite shoppers should expect that maxi dresses and some shoulder or halter straps may need altering.

The waist has been consistently true to size for me. It’s normally the boobs, not the waist, that determine whether a Majorelle style works for me or not.

Majorelle size chart and sizing guide

This Majorelle size chart is a useful starting point, but always compare it with the measurements listed on the individual product page. Revolve also notes that general sizing can vary depending on the style and brand.

SizeHipsWaistBust
0033.5″23.5″31.5″
034.5″24.5″32.5″
235.5″25.5″33.5″
436.5″26.5″34.5″
637.5″27.5″35.5″
838.5″28.5″36.5″
1039.5″29.5″37.5″
1240.5″31″39″

If you’re unsure which size to order, the measurements provided for the exact garment are generally more helpful than the overall Majorelle size guide.

Majorelle dresses review

Majorelle dresses are what the brand does best and make up most of the pieces I’ve tried. The aesthetic ranges from romantic vacation dresses to polished blazer minis and statement gowns.

Majorelle Ann Mini Dress review

The ivory Ann Mini Dress is a romantic lace mini with adjustable shoulder ties, a ruffled neckline and a tiered skirt. It’s fully lined, which helps it feel more substantial and wearable. I originally got this cream Majorelle dress for Bali, but it has become one of those vacation purchases I continue to wear back home in Las Vegas. It’s feminine without feeling overly dressy and works well for brunches, lunches, warm-weather events and vacations.

I wear an XXS–XS in Majorelle clothing, and the waist fits true to size. The adjustable straps are helpful for getting a better fit through the top, particularly if you’re petite.

Majorelle Brandi polka-dot gown review

The black-and-white polka-dot Brandi gown is one of my favorite Majorelle dresses. It has a romantic, vintage-inspired look with ruffles and a dramatic maxi length. I wore it in Singapore and France and received so many compliments. It moves and photographs beautifully but also has enough personality and movement to make an impact in real life.

As I’m 5’2”, I expected to need the hem shortened, but I loved how the dress looked and moved at its original length. I did use a lighter carefully around the edges of the flower embellishment to prevent further fraying. This is the kind of dress I think Majorelle does particularly well: feminine, distinctive and memorable without looking overly trendy. It’s also held up well and remains a dress I genuinely enjoy wearing.

Majorelle Brandin Dress Review

Yes, another Majorelle polka dot maxi dress with a very similar name but in cream and white and with a very different feel. This one has a tie neck so that’s easy to adjust but because I didn’t want to be dragging a white dress across the floor I had this one hemmed.

Majorelle Gracie Mini Dress in White

I wish I’d taken photos of the back of this dress because the backless design and oversized bow are what make it such a statement piece. I added small poppers to the sides of the bow to hold it in place and maintain its shape rather than letting the ends flop down. That was the only adjustment it needed, as the rest of the dress fit perfectly. It also wasn’t see-through, which can be a concern with white dresses.

Majorelle Alexandra Mini Dress review

The Alexandra Mini Dress in cherry red is a structured blazer-style mini with long sleeves, a front button closure and gold-tone button details.

It feels polished but still fun and works for dinners, cocktail parties and events when you want something sharper than a romantic lace dress. The waist fits true to size, although as with other structured Majorelle styles, the fit through the bust is the area to check most carefully. It tended to gape on me when I sat down so I wear it with a bodysuit underneath. The dress is fully lined, and I haven’t experienced any quality issues with it.

Majorelle tweed mini dress review

My Majorelle tweed mini dress is another style I’ve kept and worn over the years. The pearl details and subtle sparkly thread make it easy to wear during the day or at night. The material is thick and feels more substantial than some of the brand’s lighter styles. It’s also one of those classic feminine designs that doesn’t feel dated after one season.

The XS ran a little large on my frame, but the XXS would have been too small through the bust. I had the hips and shoulders taken in for a better fit. This is a good example of why I consider Majorelle clothing fairly true to size through the waist but find the bust sizing more difficult.

Majorelle black halter mini dress review

This black halter-neck Majorelle dress was another hit. The pearl and gold buttons make it feel much more special than a basic black dress. I shortened the halter because I’m petite and have a short torso, but the rest of the fit and quality were excellent. Small alterations are fairly normal for me at 5’2”, especially on dresses with fixed strap or neckline lengths.

Majorelle clothing matching sets review

Majorelle matching sets are another highlight of the brand. I love coordinated sets because they make getting dressed easy, and the pieces can often be styled separately to create more outfits. One advantage is that many Majorelle clothing sets are sold as separates. This is especially helpful if you need a different size on top and bottom.

I originally ordered a tweed bustier and skirt set before choosing the coordinating dress instead. The cups were too small, but sizing up would have made the rest of the top too loose. The dress was ultimately more flattering on me and felt slightly more elegant. I’ve also tried a shorts-and-crop-top set in an XS that was slightly loose but comfortable. Another pink loungewear set fit more closely, although I would have preferred to size up for a more relaxed feel.

My takeaway is that Majorelle matching sets are generally true to size through the waist, but fitted crop tops and bustier styles require more attention to the bust measurements.

Majorelle rompers review

Majorelle rompers are an easy option for vacations and hot weather. My white playsuit is lightweight, easy to throw on and has pockets large enough to hold my phone, a small detail, but one I always appreciate.

As with the dresses, Majorelle clothing tends to have feminine details that make its rompers feel more styled than a basic casual playsuit.

How do you style Majorelle clothing?

Majorelle clothing already has plenty of personality, so I normally keep the rest of the outfit polished and relatively simple.

For romantic mini dresses, I’ll add neutral heels or sandals and a structured bag. With statement gowns like the polka-dot maxi, I let the dress be the focus and keep the jewelry minimal. Blazer dresses work well with pointed pumps, slingbacks or sleek boots, depending on the season.

Matching sets are the most versatile because you can wear the pieces together or separately. Style a Majorelle crop top with high-waisted jeans, or pair the matching skirt or shorts with a simple bodysuit.

Majorelle clothing also works particularly well for vacation wardrobes. Lace dresses, rompers and matching sets can take you from sightseeing or brunch to dinner with a change of shoes and accessories.

What are the best Majorelle pieces for women?

Based on the 20-plus Majorelle clothing pieces I’ve tried, the brand’s strongest categories are:

  1. Feminine mini dresses
  2. Vacation and occasion dresses
  3. Matching skirt or shorts sets
  4. Blazer dresses
  5. Statement gowns
  6. Romantic lace styles

Is Majorelle clothing worth it?

Yes, I think Majorelle clothing is worth it if you love feminine fashion and choose a design you’ll wear more than once. Majorelle isn’t where I’d shop for simple basics. Its value is in the design: romantic silhouettes, statement details, flattering dresses and memorable occasion pieces. Several of my Majorelle dresses have remained in my wardrobe for years. I still wear the Ann Mini Dress in Las Vegas after originally choosing it for Bali, and the polka-dot gown received so many compliments in France. That continued wear makes them worth more to me than a cheaper dress I’d only reach for once.

The quality can vary slightly by style and fabric, so I still recommend reading the full product description before buying. Overall, however, my experience has been positive, and I believe the quality has improved since I first started wearing the brand.

Where can you buy Majorelle clothing?

I buy and browse Majorelle clothing at Revolve, which carries the brand’s dresses, tops, sets, skirts, rompers and seasonal collections.

One reason I’m comfortable ordering fitted styles online is Revolve’s return policy. At the time of updating this review, qualifying orders can be returned for a refund within 30 days of shipment or exchanged within 60 days. Items must be unworn, unwashed and undamaged with the original tags attached.

Always check the current return policy and make sure the piece isn’t marked final sale before ordering.

Majorelle clothing FAQs

Is Majorelle clothing good quality?

In my experience, yes. After trying more than 20 Majorelle clothing pieces, I’ve found the quality generally good for the price, particularly with its fully lined dresses, structured styles and occasionwear. The quality also seems to be getting better.

Is Majorelle clothing true to size?

Majorelle clothing normally fits true to size through the waist. I wear an XXS–XS. However, the bust can run small or large depending on the structure of the design, particularly when a style has fitted cups, underwire or a rigid bodice.

Does Majorelle run small?

I wouldn’t say Majorelle consistently runs small. The waist is generally true to size for me, but some fitted cups run small on a fuller bust. Check the measurements and customer fit feedback for the individual garment.

Should I size up in Majorelle clothing?

Start with your usual size unless the individual product reviews or measurements suggest otherwise. If the design has structured cups, choose the size according to your bust but be aware that sizing up may make the waist or shoulders too loose.

Is Majorelle clothing petite-friendly?

Majorelle clothing can work well for petites, but some alterations may be needed. At 5’2”, I’ve had maxi dresses hemmed and occasionally shortened straps or adjusted shoulders. Mini dresses and styles with adjustable straps tend to be easier.

Are Majorelle dresses good quality?

Most of the Majorelle dresses I’ve tried have been good quality, and several are fully lined. I’ve also kept and continued wearing multiple styles for years. Quality can vary depending on the material and construction, so check each product individually.

Is Majorelle clothing expensive?

Majorelle sits at a contemporary fashion price point rather than a budget one. Whether it feels expensive depends on the fabric and construction of the individual garment. I think its stronger dresses and matching sets offer good value, especially when purchased on sale.

What is Majorelle best known for?

Majorelle is best known for feminine, romantic clothing, particularly dresses, gowns and matching sets. Its aesthetic often includes lace, ruffles, vintage-inspired prints, fitted silhouettes and decorative details.

Final thoughts on Majorelle clothing

After trying more than 20 gifted pieces over several years, my Majorelle clothing review remains positive. The brand’s clothing is feminine, distinctive and generally good quality for the price and I think the quality continues to improve. Majorelle sizing is usually true to size through the waist, although structured busts can be unpredictable. I recommend ordering your normal size, carefully checking the individual garment measurements and being prepared for possible hemming if you’re petite.

The best proof for me is that I continue to wear the pieces. From the Ann Mini Dress I originally got for Bali and now wear in Las Vegas to the polka-dot gown that received so many compliments in France, my favorite Majorelle dresses have earned their place in my wardrobe.
