I’m not exaggerating when I say that I went through thousands of Getty images from the Fall Winter 2025-2026 runway shows and read up on my fashion magazines online and off line to compile and share my top Fall style trend forecasts for women’s 2025 fashion trends.
Along with my favorite runway versions of each Autumn fashion trend, where to get them and how to wear these runway looks in real life. As well as some styling inspiration for whatever your taste, budget or lifestyle.

Brooches and pins are in style for Fall 2025 fashion. They’re an easy way to add your personal style and update any outfit. This is one Fall fashion trend to have fun with and really make your own. Whether it’s a ladylike classic pin on a blazer, pretty flower, or stacked sculptural brooches on your coat. As seen at Miu Miu and Alaïa.
I’ll be keeping my Chanel brooch on hand to add a glam touch to any outfit.
2. Preppy aesthetic
Preppy everything is still in for Fall 2025 fashion from footwear to clothing. Yes, this was a Fall trend last year too too! Think polo shirts and sweaters, collared button down shirts, plaid, blazers, pencil skirts, ties, knee high socks, and womens loafers are still set to be big trends and stay in stay for Fall fashion 2025.

3. Fall color trend 2025 | Brown everything
Say Hello to brown for Fall 2025. I know, nothing ground breaking but I do love it for Autumn and Winter. We’re talking all shades of brown but especially rich, dark chocolate brown being in style for Fall 2025. For an on trend look for 2025 think monochromatic outfits in suede, faux fur (another Fall trend), or buttery leather for a luxe look.

I might be stealing Cult Gaia’s Looks 8 and 10 for style inspiration as I love the feminine aspect and warmth long leather gloves brings. Brown is set to stick around for a couple of seasons so if you’ve ever thought about wearing it, now’s the time!
4. Fringe and tassels.
Another trend that always comes back around. I just started updating my Fall wardrobe with these fun styles that ruled the Fall Winter 2025 runways. If you love styles that move with you and show some personality, this Fall fashion 2025 for ladies trend is definitely for you.
Embrace this maximalist style with fringe trimmed dresses, gold tassel earrings, suede jackets, or just a little fringe detailing. As seen at Khaite, Fforme, The Row, Tod’s, Gabriela Hearst, and Calvin Klein.
5. Women’s Fall Fashion Trends 2025 | Skinny flared pants
This is less of a runway trend and more of an It Girl street trend. If you love black leggings consider giving flared leggings a go. Flared skinny pants have taken over the streets for Fall, probably due to the fact they’re comfortable, ultra wearable, and versatile. It’s also a trend that won’t break the bank! As seen on Elsa Hosk, Hailey Bieber, Jasmine Tookes, and Jenna Ortega.
I haven’t worn this style for about 20+ years when I’d wear them for rehearsals or Jazz class but I could be tempted. For the most on trend and versatile look, go for a black pair that can be dressed up or down.
6. Fall fashion outerwear | Capes
I loved this trend the last time ponchos were in style as I’m always cold. So any excuse to bundle up in a cozy style I’m totally for. Whether it’s swaddling yourself in a scarf-coat, shawl wrap, or cape, they’re a practical Fall/Winter trend that actually makes sense. The beauty of capes is that they can be anything from effortlessly draped styles to more elegant, structured styles that will see you through Winter too.
For the most chic looks for Fall 2025 think luxurious, super soft and warm fabrics. Look to Dior, Calvin Klein, Altuzarra, Khaite, Michael Kors, and Brandon Maxwell for outfit ideas and inspiration.
7. Glam Fall fashion basics | Faux fur coats and trims
Fall 2025 women’s fashion trends wouldn’t be complete without a cozy, warm jacket. All shapes and forms of faux fur jackets and coats from boho to chic found their way back onto the Fall 2025 fashion show runways. From longer lengths to cropped lengths and even fur trim. The important thing to note with this trend is to keep it faux and yes, brown is one of the biggest color trends to opt for. Real fur is well and truly over (and hopefully gone forever).

8. Funnel-necks | 2025 Fashion Trends
One shape that kept showing up over and over again on this Fall/Winter’s runway shows was funnel-neck silhouettes. So yes, they’re still in style for Fall/Winter 2025. This fall trend is another practical one, whether you were a funnel neck dress or outerwear, which is an easy way to update all of your winter Fall outfits. Unlike the preppy trend, the on-trend way to wear this is as cool-girl street wear, luxe looks like the Fendi dress below, or athleisure wear, just not in a sloppy way.
Think flare leggings, capri leggings, maxi skirts, or relaxed bottoms. Take style inspiration from Elsa Hosk or any of the Auralee, Miu Miu, and Kallmeyer Fall Winter 2025 runway shows.
9. Feminine Fall style | Lace and satin slip skirts and dresses.
I’m a huge fan of slip dresses, lace, and all things feminine so I was really happy to see these romantic styles back at Chanel, Zimmermann, Dior, McQueen, and Chloé to name a few. While it was mainly black and white iterations, don’t be afraid to pull from other Fall trends like brown, plum or animal print.
For the easiest styling go for opaque styles. If you want to try more of a lingerie look, layer sheer pieces that already have built in coverage where it’s needed the most and add the sheer tights trend to the look. I personally find it easier to stick to warmer, full coverage outfits by layering sweaters over slip dresses or adding a leather or faux fur jacket to a lace dress. You could even style them with trending barn jackets or capes.
10. Fall 2025 women’s fashion trends | Leather maxi skirts
Leather and more leather seems to be the theme for Fall fashion 2025 from gloves to clothing to accessories. Leather is perfect for Fall fashion and we love it for it’s practicality and cool girl aesthetic. This season try leather maxi skirts or even head to toe leather.

11. Fall 2025 jewelry trends | Pendant necklaces
Pendant necklaces are back in style for Fall 2025. This seasons are easy to style and make a statement. The key is to find one that lets you show your personality and that sits well with most of your wardrobe. Style them over turtle neck sweaters, button down shirts, with satin slip dresses or pretty lace dresses.

12. Sequins for the day and night
Yes, yes, and more yes to this glam dressing that works for all hours of the day and night when done right. Ok, maybe not for the office but for brunch, absolutely. For the daytime style things like plain t-shirts and sweaters with a sequin skirt or even layer your sequin mini over pants for extra warmth and texture. This is one trend that’s really about finding a color and piece you love and making it your own.
The same look would work for the evening or you could go full glam in something like the dress below.

13. Knee high socks & how to style them in 2025
As someone who loves the preppy aesthetic and any way I can find to keep my feet warm I’m loving the knee high sock trend. The key is to make it look elegant and not like you’re going to play sports or off to school. If you want something different and don’t mind cold toes, try Miu Miu‘s silk toeless knee-high socks. I’ll personally be sticking to the classic toe version!
Miu Miu is always the first place I turn to for preppy styling and their Fall/Winter 2025 runway was filled with outfit inspiration and models wearing knee-high socks of various colors with loafers. You can also take styling inspiration from the street style stars like Emma Chamberlain and style white pairs under you riding boots, sheer back styles with heeled pumps, or any color with loafers.

14. Accessory trends 2025 | Statement belts
It’s not just about the belt but about how you’re wearing it for Fall 2025. Let’s start with the style. The more statement making the better! Think tassels, buckles, wide corset belts, western-inspired, skinny colorful styles, and gold accents. It’s an easy way to show your personality, not just follow a trend.
Now how to style them. Take stying inspiration from the Fall/Winter runway shows:
- Use a wide belt to cinch the waist of your blazers.
- Style them loose and low over your skirts as seen at Chloé.
- Jump on the fringe and tassel trend with a tassel belt.

15. Unexpected color combinations
If you’re feeling playful (or getting dressed in the dark) clashing colors are totally ok to wear this Fall. As seen at Stella McCartney, Fendi, and Tory Burch runway shows to name a few.
So if you’re tired of monochromatic outfits, play around with red and brown combinations mixed with pastels like baby pink and red, orange and brown, mint green or pastel blue.
16. Animal Print
Animal print has been back in style for a while and judging by the Fall/Winter 2025 runway shows and Editor round ups, it’s here to stay this season. The most on trend way to wear it in 2025 is head to toe Leopard, Cheetah, or Zebra print outfits. If the runway looks are a little too bold and head turning for you IRL, stick to accent pieces.
When it comes to styling I’m wearing everything from leopard and lace slip dresses to leopard print shoes with jeans and a button down. Wear this trend however makes you feel the most comfortable but aim for sophisticated vs jungle animal.

17. Fall 2025 color trends | Plum
One of my favorite jewel color trends. Plum and purples of all shades were seen at Tibi, Dries Van Noten, Lanvin, Auralee, Dries Van Noten, Miu Miu, Versace, Altuzarra, and Gucci. It’s going to be a toss up whether brown or plum is the color of the season so pick whichever (or both) you like best.
When it comes to styling, it’s not just plum clothing that’s in style but shoes and accessories too and it’s more versatile a color than you might think. Style it with white, black, red, or similar shades of purple.
18. 2025 sheer tights trend
We’re talking 20 denier, the kind that will probably last you one wear. So be mindful of your jewelry, zipper, fabric choices, and keep those toenails in check. What they lack in warmth, they make up for in adding elegance to an outfit. If you want to cheat some warmth look for fleece-lined tights. Style black or brown pairs with stiletto heel pumps for the most on trend look for Fall/Winter 2025.
