Count me in for this trend! Sequins were seen all over Chanels runway show and add a rich, glamorous look to any outfit. They’re not Vegas style sequin club dress but luxe black sequin jackets, trousers and ultra glam dresses. If sequin clothing’s out of your comfort zone, add a sequin bag to get a pared down version of this Fall trend.
This is a look you’ll want to keep sophisticated and shine in. Take inspiration for this Fall fashion trend for 2021 from Chanel, Giorgio Armani, Dolce and Gabanna, Valentino and Erdem.

2. Be Bold in These Happy Colors
The bold solid colors this Fall brighten up a grey Fall day with pops of yellow, pink and lavender worn with gold jewelry and statement earrings. This is a Fall trend to have fun with and play with new colors.
I’ve always been a fan of hot pink and am keeping my summer maxis and midis out for Fall but wearing them with knee high boots, long line jackets and a baguette bag instead of espadrilles and a bamboo clutch (photo from Summer below).

3. Chic Tailoring
Forget slouchy, oversized loungewear for Fall fashion 2021 and get your hands on chic, smart womens suits and coord pant sets which instantly elevate your style. I love the stylish tailored looks on this seasons runways and luxe fabrics. It’s an easy trend to replicate by layering a crop top under a blazer and pants for Fall or a button down shirt, vest and tailored pants with a long button down coat for Winter.
To copy the catwalk chic, style them with loafers or flat suede knee high boots. For a more feminine look add your favorite pumps as seen as Giorgio Armani and Chanel or belt your blazer and coat to give it shape and your own personal touch.

4. Luxe Knitwear
This isn’t your Grandad vest but luxe knitwear. Think coord sets, fitted midi and maxi knit skirts, belted sweater dresses with strappy black heels or flat boots for Fall fashion 2021. Dior did the luxe knitwear best for FW 2021 2022.

From cosy duster coats to sexy cut out sweater dresses, a lot of the luxe knitwear looks cover a couple of the Fall trends 2021 and are great for layering in Autumn.
5. Après Ski
A twist on the knit wear trend for fall fashion. This knitwear’s more patterned, colorful and cozy. Sweater vests are still on trend for Fall 2021 and great for layering for the weather in the Fall and Winter months. I’m personally skipping this trend but will embrace it via Après Ski drinks.

6. Roaring 20’s
If you listen to any of the stock market podcasts or watched any of the Fall runway shows it’s hard not to have heard about or seen the forecast for a repeat of the roaring 20’s and how it’s inspiring fashion. I absolutely love this era and all of the details.
This ultra glam, feminine look is one of my favorite Fall trends and it also styles really well with the sequin trend: think silk and lace flapper dresses, camisoles, slip dresses worn with a sequin jacket, heavily embellished dresses, drop waists and sleek hair.
My favorite looks for this Fall fashion trend came from Zuhair Murad : Runway – Paris Fashion Week – Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2021/2022.

7. Pretty Pinks
From pale pink satin separates at Fendi to bold bright pink coats this color was one of the most seen colors for Fall 2021. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a coord set, blazer, dress or coat just make sure it’s pink for this Fall fashion 2021.

8. Puffers Coats and Quilted Jackets
While puffer coats get an airing every Winter, since 2017 they’ve been more of an annual runway staple and actually a fashion trend not just functional piece. Black was a key color and is always a classic but if you like color, now’s the time to combine the bold solid color trend with the puffer coat trend. Go for a puffer coat in a bright color like purple, orange, blue or for a more versatile coat, white or cream as seen at Brunello Cucinelli.
Whatever color you go for, it’s the longer length this season that’s most fashion forward. If you’re not a fan of puffer coats, bags have also got the puffy treatment for 2021 and are a way to add the trend to your look. It was my husband who actually made me get mine as if it’s below 65 I’m freezing and it’s been a lifesaver.

9. Crop it!
Cropped styles aren’t going anywhere for Fall trends 2021. From crop tops in Summer to crop jackets and shirts for Fall. This is an easy style to get so wrong! Keep it sophisticated by going for luxe fabrics and structured styles rather than jersey or unstructured pieces. If you’re worried about turning blue, here’s how to wear a crop top in the colder months.
A crop button down jacket looks elegant styles with wide leg pants and killer pumps. Take your Fall fashion inspiration from the Chanel, Giorgio Armani, Fendi, Vetements, Fashion East, Peter Do, Laquan Smith runway photos below.

10. Midi length
Whatever the piece: skirts, coats, dresses, this is the in length for Fall trends 2021. From the luxe knit dresses, to A-line skirts to pleated midi skirts, there’s a style for everyone. This is a hard length for us petite girls to pull off and is all about getting the proportions right.

11. Lovely in Lace
Lace isn’t just for Summer but a luxe and feminine fabric and detailing for Fall fashion 2021. Keep your long sleeve white lace dresses on repeat and add boots or booties and a leather jacket or long line suit coat as the weather gets cooler. Or rock the roaring 20’s Fall fashion looks with lace trimmed slip or flapper dresses.

Whatever your style, there’s a way to embody and wear this Fall trend.
12. Suited and Booted
I love blazers and structured styles so the return of the suit coat but with a longer hem is another Fall trend for 2021 that I’m here for. This isn’t your average suit blazer or jacket though but a longer length outwear jacket that’s lighter than your winter coat and perfect for Fall and transitional pieces. Think checked patterns and solid neutral colors like grey, tan, cream and black and throw it over everything from pants to dresses. This is a piece you’ll get lots of wear out of.
If you’re looking for a heavier weight long coat for winter, here’s the winter coats trending for 2021.

If colors aren’t your thing, you’ll love the black trend and LBD styles for fall fashion 2021. LBD’s are always in style bit this Fall they’re long sleeve, short and fitted. Get this look with a tuxedo dress, long sleeve gold button down mini or one shoulder LBD. I loved the embellished minis at Zuhair Murad, the structured styles at Alaia and the cut outs at Coperni.

14. Cut Outs
Cut out dresses were a key trend for Summer 2021 but this Fall they’re still key fashion trend. It’s not just cut outs on the body but along the neckline and sleeves this season. Make it more Fall appropriate with a cut out sweater dress that also nails the luxe knitwear trend.

15. Head to Toe Denim
Denim is still a key trend for Fall fashion 2021 as seen at the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall Winter 2021 2022 runway show. It’s not so much denim jackets but denim jumpsuits and fitness denim shirts with jeans and a long coat. Most of us already have denim in our wardrobes and can style them this way to give them a fresh look for Fall 2021.

16. Floaty Maxi Dresses and Gowns
Don’t put your floaty maxi dresses away for Fall, they were seen on so many of the Fall Winter 2021 2022 fashion shows. These etherial, floaty, feminine styles are perfect for warmer Fall days or throw over a long line jacket or sequin blazer for cooler days and nights. There wasn’t one predominant color for this style, they came in everything from jewel tones to dark shades and the palest sheers but the more volume the better.
The maxi dresses to wear this Fall
If you’re more on the petite side like I am and don’t want to fork out on tailoring hemlines. These petite maxi dresses solve that issue.
As seen at Balmain, Stella McCartney, Jil Sander, Schiaparelli, Isabel Marant, J.W. Anderson, Moschino, Victoria Beckham. This sparkly trend is super fun after what was for most a pretty rubbish (covid) and dull year (fashion). Whether you want to go full on party glam or add just a touch with a pair of metallic boots, this is the trend to jump on and would be perfect for holiday parties. So grab a statement making pair and sparkle on.
Fall Trends I’ll Be Skipping
While I’m loving all of the trends above the ones I’m passing on are clogs, flatforms, chunky boots and real fur. Although I’m excited knee high boots and platforms are back as I can use all the help I can get with height.
