Hotel Chapter Roma review | Baby double room

We stayed in the Baby Double room which at 22 sqm / 236 sqft was more than enough space for the 2 of us. From the entrance to the rooftop bar, this hotel truly focuses on the design aspect with warm wooden flooring mixed with marble, velvet and steel and brass. The furniture is from internationally renowned design firms like Moroso & Diesel, Tom Dixon, Seletti, and have been custom designed and produced by local artisans.

Room features:

  • King bed
  • Sitting area
  • Bar (fees apply)
  • Mini bar fridge
  • Free wifi
  • Air conditioning.
  • Smart TV (we never turned it on)
  • Marshall bluetooth speakers
  • Overhead shower (no bath or handheld shower)
  • Organic La Bruket toiletries (my husband loved the smell of)
  • Courtyard or city view.

The room was pretty quiet for being in the heart of Rome. If anything, the seagulls in the morning made more noise than the traffic. I always travel with earplugs anyway as I’m a light sleeper.

The only disappointing aspect was the view. As this room says either city or courtyard view but this is the city view we had. People can also see directly into your room so definitely draw your curtains changing and when in the bathroom, etc .

The curtains do a good job at keeping a lot of light out too. We appreciated the effective AC too as we went during a heatwave.

They also have double rooms, Lofts, and suites if you want more space.

Hotel Chapter Roma restaurant and bars

There is a coffee shop and ‘Hey Baby’ bar on the ground floor which is where breakfast is served and you can get drinks before 6pm. Breakfast is continental with some egg options available to order. After that head on up to their intimate rooftop bar.

The small, friendly Mexican rooftop bar ‘Hey Güey’ offers some unique cocktails. I highly recommend making a reservation as it doesn’t seat many.

If you’re wanting dinner at the hotel, check out their classic New York Italian restaurant ‘Campocori’ (opening hours Tuesday to Sunday: 15:00-1:00) which is sexy and dark. We didn’t eat here as we wanted something more authentic and to explore the city. The front desk were really helpful at making dinner reservations for us.

Hotel Chapter Roma pros and cons

The front desk were helpful and friendly and overall we thought the location was great and kept very clean. It’s not as central as some places but it’s only a 7 minute walk to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, and a few minutes from the river where there were some cute pop up bars for the summer.

The overall vibe feels contemporary and we’d definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

There isn’t a pool or anywhere to get lunch (besides room service) at the hotel. However, there are so many restaurants within walking distance that really isn’t an issue. Especially as you’ll more than likely be out sightseeing at that time anyway.

Places like the Spanish Steps (25 min), Villa Borghese (33 min) and the Vatican (38 min) are a slightly longer walk, especially on a hot day. We got taxi’s to those places as we went during a heatwave.
