The best wide leg pants to stock up on this summer
High waisted wide legs pants have made a huge come back this Summer in women’s fashion. I bought a few pairs of wide leg pants this season as I know I’ll be living in them a lot as they’re so comfy. I rounded up the best wide leg trousers from designer (in the Outnet Sale with up to 70% off) to luxe for less styles with the added bonus that they all have pockets. What’s not to love? They’re comfortable and the high waisted wide leg pants are ever so flattering and make us petite girls look taller due to their silhouette. These trousers are in the lightest, breeziest materials and colors for Summer. I avoided linen as I wanted pants that would be great for traveling and linen isn’t. It’s a nightmare to iron so it’s not a material I ever buy. I’ve also included what to wear with high waisted wide leg pants to create the best silhouette for all body types and make putting together an outfit easier.
Whats the difference between flares, palazzo pants and wide leg pants?
Flares are narrower at the knees giving them that flared effect. Palazzo pants are wide and roomy from the waist down and normally made from lightweight material that gives them their airy feel. Whereas wide legs pants are wider from the hips down and don’t get narrower at the knee, giving them a relaxed but chic look that’s more timeless and less retro. Wide leg pants are also more flattering on larger hips and thighs.
Best High Waisted Wide Leg Trousers For 2021
The best high waisted wide leg pants for 2021 from all of my favorite online stores and designers.
1. Halston women’s high waisted wide leg pants
I’m really into Halston after watching the new Netflix series. These pretty pastel pink satin trousers are belted, high waisted and have discreet pockets. The material and color make these the perfect wide leg summer pants. They flow beautifully and they’re so light and perfect for Summer. They’re on the dressier side and would be perfect for date night. They’re in the Outnet sale for 70% off and are selling out fast. So if you have your eye on these beauties snap them up before they’re completely gone. Sizing runs slightly large and very long so they’re great for longer legs.
2. Brunello Cucinelli cream women’s wide leg pants
These cream pleated cotton-blend twill wide-leg pants are so smart and perfectly tailored. They’d look equally chic with a crop top and blazer or simple bodysuit. They’re another Outnet sale find and make these women’s designer bottoms a steal.
3. Brunello Cucinelli white elasticated waist wide leg pants
I wouldn’t normally share 2 pants from the same designer but these white pants are too versatile, comfortable and stylish to miss. Especially while they’re on sale. The gathered satin-crepe wide-leg pants are a timeless classic that would be so comfortable yet smart to fly in or for dinners al fresco. These Bruno Cucinelli pants also have front and back pockets so you can wear them with your mini bag and have a place for your phone.
4. Forte_Forte blue satin high waisted wide leg pants
These are the prettiest sky blue pull on pants in the silkiest satin that hang so elegantly. The elasticated waistband doesn’t look frumpy but makes them another comfortable pair of pants to invest in this summer. They also have pockets and you can machine wash them (no dry cleaning necessary). They’re in the Outnet sale for under $200 (70% off).
5. Theory beige belted wide leg pants
These pants run super long but the belt and high waist on these are so fabulous and create a really nice shape. They’re on sale for under $200 (was $395) and are selling out fast. The wool-flannel blend material and dark beige color is great for Fall. If you’re wondering what to wear with high waisted wide leg trousers like these, I recommended a fitted top of bodysuit to balance out the volume on the bottom half. As well as to show whatever belt you wear with it.
6. Casasola pleated beige wool pants
If you’re looking for flattering high waisted wide leg pants to wear on cooler evenings or into Fall these are beautifully tailored trousers. They’re made in Italy and have pockets of course.
Luxe For Less High Waisted Wide Leg Summer Pants Under $100
If you’d rather save than splurge, these are the best high waisted wide leg trousers I could find under $100 and great value for money.
Zara full length pants
These are only $39.90 and besides stone (off white/cream), they also come in a in pretty sea green or black. They’re incredibly lightweight and airy for Summer as well as high waisted with pockets big enough for your phone. Sizing runs true to size and slightly long. As you can see from the photo, they will need some steaming or ironing.
Femme Luxe Off White Wide Leg Pants
These pants are also ‘stone‘ color but are darker and more of a beige than the pair from Zara. They run slightly small in the waist so if you’re unsure size up. They also come in white which I think I might have to stock up on as well as they’re on sale for under $12. Use code SPRING15 for an extra 15% off. The elasticated waist is only visible at the back (they look normal from the front), so I’m going to throw a blazer over these to make them look more expensive and hide that part.
Beige Wide Leg Pants
These are slightly darker but I know so many of you love beige so I had to include them. They’re under $50 and have a really cute tortoise shell button fastening that makes them a little different. The tailored pleating makes them look more expensive than they are. There’s also a matching strapless crop top (sold separately) if you want the coord set to take the guess work out of what to wear with them. Crop tops work really well with wide leg pants as the bottoms hide the part of our stomach most of us are more self conscious about.
What to wear with high waisted wide leg pants
If you’re wondering what to wear with high waisted wide leg pants it’s all about creating balance. High waisted pants are brilliant at making us look taller and leaner when styled the right way. These 4 styling ideas should help you with what to wear with high waisted wide leg pants for the most flattering look rather than being overwhelmed with too much volume and material.
- A cropped blazer over a fitted bodysuit with high waisted pants gives the illusion of really long legs, which is great for us more petite girls.
- Keeping things more fitted on the top helps create balance and to make the look more tailored, instead of having everything too flowy.
- Shoulder pads or voluminous sleeves with wider pants also help to create a flattering hourglass silhouette.
- If you’ve been wanting to try the crop top trend but nervous about showing too much skin, high waisted pants help reduce the amount of skin on show and show the part of our stomachs that are normally the most toned.
