JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach Review: Everything You Need to Know Before You Book

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach review glamour gains

Last Updated on June 13, 2026 by Eve Dawes

If you’re planning a trip to Singapore and debating where to stay, the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach deserves a serious look. We chose this hotel for a few reasons, one because we’re Marriott Bonvoy Titanium so tend to look for Marriott hotels when we travel for the perks, and two the location. We stayed in the Deluxe Suite on the 20th floor, paid in full, and here’s exactly what you can expect, the pros, cons, amenities, and whether or not it’s worth it in this hotel review.

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach Location

The JW Marriott Singapore South Beach sits at 30 Beach Road in the heart of the city, designed by the late Zaha Hadid and Philippe Starck. You’re walking distance from Marina Bay (31 minutes), Suntec City (8 minutes), Raffles (3 minutes), Merlion (15 minutes) and the Central Business District (29 minutes). For a Singapore base, it’s hard to beat. Especially if you’re a tourist looking to hit all of the major attractions.

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore Room Review: The Deluxe Suite

The JW Marriott Deluxe Suite is genuinely spacious, with separate living and sleeping areas, and designer furnishings. The marble bathroom features a double vanity, a state of the art smart toilet with electronic bidet, a deep soak bathtub and a separate rain shower. We were in corner suite 2003, on the 20th floor, which gave direct views of Marina Bay Sands from the room, which never gets old.

The details

You enter into the first corridor with 2 closets and a toilet. The corridor leads to the seating area/living room with a TV, sofa, desk and separate kitchen/wet bar. The wet bar has a Nespresso machine, sink, water tap, mini fridge and mini bar (fees apply).

Then we get into the master bathroom. The standout feature is the huge soaking tub with sweeping views. You also have 2 sinks and vanities on separate sides of the bathroom so there’s no fighting for bathroom space and time. What I found really good, and is a struggle in a lot of hotel rooms, was the lighting. Because of the huge windows, the lighting to do your makeup in the day is absolutely fabulous.

Another thing I really appreciated was that the shower had both an overhead rainfall and adjustable handheld. You know how much I hate when you just have an overhead shower, especially as I don’t always want to be washing my hair.

What blew me away in the bedroom is the windows. If you have a JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach corner suite, you can see as far as Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay. The rooms are impressively soundproofed, which is a genuine achievement for a hotel this central in one of Asia’s busiest cities, and as a light sleeper, I really appreciated.

The bed is very very comfortable. It came with three choices of pillow. So if you’re like The Princess And The Pea, you can really find the perfect pillow for you. There are also nightlights throughout, which you can choose to have on or off.

There are several doors throughout the suite so you can separate everything. We appreciated this as the jet lag meant I was up early, so I could shut the doors and go in the living room and turn on the lights without disturbing my husband.

Storage: there are 3 closets. 1 as you enter, 1 by the living room and 1 in the long corridor by the bedroom which has the safe, lots of space for your shoes, laundry bags, dressing gown sand slippers. So you’re never going to run out of storage space.

Lastly, everything is fitted with smart technology, from the lighting and curtains to the Nespresso machine and complimentary high speed WiFi.

Deluxe Suite guests and Marriott Bonvoy Platinum and higher have access to the Executive Lounge. The lounge itself is large and well appointed with business facilities including complimentary computer and printer access and a meeting room available for up to two hours complimentary. You can opt for breakfast here or if you want more variety, head to Beach Road Kitchen, more on that below.

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach review: Breakfast at Beach Road Kitchen

We opted for the buffet breakfast at Beach Road Kitchen which offers significantly more choice than the Executive Lounge. The spread was one of the most extensive hotel breakfasts we’ve had anywhere. It literally has something for everyone and seemed to be a mix of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Salads, meats, cheeses, fruits, eggs, cereals, soups, curries, pastries, full English breakfast, soft serve machine, the list goes on. And it really caters for all nationalities.

It’s free for platinum and higher Marriott Bonvoy members. Otherwise, it’s going to be $45 per person plus tax. If you’re someone who takes breakfast seriously, go to Beach Road Kitchen rather than the lounge and definitely come hungry!

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach dining and bars

There are so many dining options here as it’s part of the South Beach complex which includes Akira Back if you’re in the mood for sushi and Japanese, Madame Fan if you want some really good Chinese food, and Tonic if you love gin as they have an extremely extensive and eclectic selection.

The Pool

The rooftop pool has panoramic views over the Singapore skyline and Marina Bay. It’s not technically a rooftop pool because there are more stories above the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach. However, it’s beautiful and relatively quiet compared to the more famous infinity pools in the city, as well as being completely shaded. So if you’re looking for sunshine, you’ll want to go to the other pool, but this is where the bar is and the sun loungers are.

It tended to be really quiet in the morning and then get busier in the afternoon as it was too hot to go out and everyone popped up for cocktails. There is only one table in the pool that you see in all of the photos. This is a hot commodity. So, if you want to get that one, get there early.

Also, on this floor, there is a pool table, a foosball table, and lots of seats with views. It was never busy on this side of the pool deck, so, it was very peaceful with views of the both the wheel and Marina Bay Sands.

If you like being active, they have aqua bike classes which looked super fun. We just didn’t have time to check it out.

The other pool is on the lower floor, so the views aren’t quite as good, but if you’re looking for sunshine, come here. In saying that, there are no sun loungers except for a couple in the water there, and there’s no bar.

More JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach amenities

  • Spa by JW

  • On-Site Laundry
  • 1 on-site bar

I would definitely recommend using one of your nightly upgrade awards versus putting in for one of your upgrades as they tend to not happen there is it’s always very busy.

Platinum and higher have Executive Lounge Access and you can choose between points or complimentary breakfast at Beach Road Cafe which is what we opted for.

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach review: The verdict

The JW Marriott Singapore South Beach delivers on every level. The suite is genuinely luxurious, the location is unbeatable, the breakfast is exceptional and the views from the 20th floor make waking up very easy. For a Singapore luxury hotel stay that isn’t the Marina Bay Sands, I highly recommend this Marriott hotel and would definitely stay again.
