Mew Mews is the Instafamous brand loved by celebs but is it legit?
Mew Mews clothing is the fashion forward brand you can’t have missed on Instagram if you’re remotely interested in women’s fashion. So time for an honest and in depth Mew Mews review. Whether you’ve been served an ad or seen their super cute rainbow mirror dress on Chrishell Stause a common question is ‘Is Mew Mews legit?’. I’ll get to that. Mew Mews fashion brand is known for their stunning, sexy, and really fashion forward styles and as soon as I see a cute pink dress I’m going to click on it. Which is how I got started shopping with them.

What put me off to begin with and made me pause before hitting the buy button was Mew Mews limited refund policy (more on that later) which has since changed. It’s now:

Mew Mews
To be honest, there’s nothing I’ve wanted to return either. I’ve been really happy with all of the Mew Mews fashion and accessories I’ve bought and been gifted.
Who and what is Mew Mews
Mew Mews is a pretty new womens fashion brand. It was founded in late 2021 by a group of women who wanted to create clothes that looked great and made you feel great too. They say their products are all hand made and high quality, so we’ll see!
One of the things you might not know about Mew Mews clothing that a lot of reviews don’t cover is that they use eco-friendly materials wherever possible and production methods like made to order by hand.
They’re also constantly seeking out new ways to reduce their environmental impact. It’s not something that’s a deal breaker to me when choosing brands but is definitely a bonus.
Mew Mews review and try on haul

Mew Mews Dress: Inara Strapless Mesh Cutout Mini Dress In Blush
This mini dress comes S, M and L. I was worried the small would be too big but because it’s a blend of high stretch mesh and bandage fabric (95% Polyester, 5% Spandex) it actually fit perfectly and doesn’t fall down on me. Like most of their mini dresses, it is pretty short. So if you’re tall it might be too short. For me, at 5’2″ it’s perfect.
This strapless dress also comes with the flower choker and 3 floral broaches which you can take off to wash. One of the things I really appreciated is that you can wear it straight out of the bag, it doesn’t need ironing.

Mew Mews Dress: Ruby Halterneck Mesh Maxi Dress
I get nervous about ordering maxi dresses as 99% of the time I have to have them hemmed. This Mew Mews maxi dress is one of the few that’s ever been the perfect length. It is sheer, so you’ll need nipple coverups and underwear but sheer is in right now.
The black Ruby Halterneck Mesh Maxi Dress comes in sizes XS-L and is a blend of 95% Cotton and 5% Spandex that you can gently machine wash. Or so they say, I haven’t washed mine yet!
If in doubt with this brand, go for stretchy fabrics like this dress for a better chance of getting something that fits.
The only downside to this maxi dress is that because it’s tight it’s pretty difficult to walk in. It’s more of a waddle dress to sip cocktails in.
Mew Mews Bag Review: Mattea Satin Crystal Embellished Bucket Bag In Hot Pink
The hot pink satin Mews Mews bag is giving me similar vibes to another designer but at a much lower price. I got it to go with the pink dress and all of the other pinks that my wardrobes full of!
The bag drawstring is way easier to use than most and the bag is more rigid and structured than it looks. The glam crystal details on the bracelet style top handle and drawstring chain are super pretty and don’t look cheap. It’s also an item where you don’t have to worry about the fit!

I’ve had a ton of wear out of mine so far as I’ve also been wearing this pink dress a lot as I only packed one large case for Europe for 6 weeks. It fits my phone easily it just wasn’t big enough for my large Chanel sunglasses case.
Florrie Short Sleeve Bow Mini Dress
I was searching for a statement piece for afternoon tea that still looked classy. So as soon as I saw this hot pink, cap sleeve mini dress with it’s cute bow detail on the back I had to have it. It’s giving me Valentino vibes but with a much lower price tag.
I ordered the small as it only comes in sizes S-XXL so I had it tailored to be more fitted at the waist. It’s the only one of these 4 Mew Mews clothing pieces I had altered. It doesn’t have any stretch so if in doubt size up so that you can have it tailored.
The quality is excellent and cut is stunning but it is very short. So if you’re tall it might be too short. It’s also more neon pink than it looks in their photos. I ended up wearing this on repeat a lot all Summer. It also hand washes really nicely. Although it takes a while to air dry as the material and lining are thick.

- Needs steaming or ironing before wearing.

Mew Mews review: Tau Printed Swimwear Two Piece Set
I got this set as I thought it would go with my Dior Dway slides. It wasn’t an exact match but close enough. The sarong and swimsuit are sold together and come in sizes S-XL. They say it “won’t fade after repeated use”. I’m only on wash number 2 but so far so good.
I wish the material was more elastic and supportive. However, if you’re looking for a modest cut this is a good option. As it gives a little more coverage on the butt, is lower cut on the legs than I’d normally go for and is a little long on the torso for me (but I’m all legs and have the shortest torso).
The sarong is one size fits most as it just wraps to tie. I still think it’s a super cute and stylish set for the pool or beach and great quality for the price point.
When it comes to what I ordered VS what I got, so far I’ve found that Mew Mews fashion photos on their website have been really true to what I’ve received.

Their returns policy is pretty limited (unless if it’s faulty or damaged) but I have some savvy shopping tips now that I’ve had 3 orders from them to try and make sure the pieces you order work out.

Mew Mews dress | Red rosette mini dress
The color of this dress is a total knock out. It’s one of those red mini dresses that as soon as you put on you immediately feel more sexy and confident. Which has as much to do with the color as the cut outs, sexy sheer panels at the hips and the way the ties move when you walk.
It’s also gentle machine washable which is a major bonus. As a lot of Mew Mews dresses are hand wash only.
I find it a little small and short, even on me and I’m 5’2″. So no wonder it has the long piece in the middle. Which is kind of weird but serves a purpose. I’m normally an XS but ordered a small as that seems to be what tends to fit me the best with this brand and it’s easier to have something tailored in than made bigger.
Mew Mews Review: Sadie Button Embellished Bandage Dress in black
This black body hugging maxi dress with it’s gold buttons was love at first sight. The quality of the fabric, the fit, the way it holds everything in place, the gold button detailing on the front and even on the back. As well as the fact that you can walk and don’t have to waddle in it.
I feel like the small runs more like an XS and it’s the perfect length on me with both flats and heels. I wish it came in more colors as I’d buy them all.
What I ordered VS what I got: The buttons are decorative, not functional and white enamel and gold rather than being solid gold. One thing that you can’t tell from the photos on their website is that there’s a slit on one side to make walking in it easy. Always a bonus!
Mew Mews Clothing: Helena Stripe Bandage Set
I love stripes but have been struggling to find a classy, fitted stripe top to go with my white shorts and white jeans this season. I love the classic, nautical, chic look.
So I figured this Mew Mews matching stripe crop top and skirt set gives me more options to mix and match. When it comes to what I ordered VS what I got it’s spot on. I knew it’d show less stomach from reading the models height which is what I wanted. The material is thick and feels quality.
It’s the perfect length to wear with both flats and heels and dress up or down as a set or separates. I’d style it for the day with white leather flats and for the evening with my vintage Chanel gold chain belt and heels.
It’s also a great set to pack to travel with as it’s easy to mix and match and create lots of outfits with. E.g the top with my white shorts or jeans and a blazer, and the skirt with a black or white bodysuit. It also doesn’t need ironing. Consider me sold! It might be my new favorite set in my wardrobe.
You might want to consider sizing up in this Mew Mews matching stripe set as I’m wearing a small and it’s snug and I normally wear an XS. On the plus side, the materials fab quality and holds everything in!
Mew Mews Return Policy
Mew Mews clothing has a fairly strict return policy except for defective items. Basically they accept returns for store credit and exchanges within seven business days of receipt of your purchase. I’ve linked their return policy so you can check on their latest updates.
Mew Mews return policy is made to accommodate the nature of their made-to-order pieces. As all of Mew Mews products are made to order by hand, which means that they create the product(s) after an order is made. It’s part of their sustainability efforts to create lest waste.
Tips for Shopping on Mew Mews website
Because of Mew Mews clothing limited returns policy, consider these things when shopping on their site:
- If in doubt size up as it’s easy to tailor things that are too big than too small.
- Look for stretchy fabrics for a better chance of it fitting.
- Read the Mew Mews reviews on each product about sizing, color, etc. A lot of them will mention when they’ve found things run short or long, etc.
- Order a couple of pieces to start with to try for size before placing a big order. Then order in bulk going forward as they often incentivize bigger savings and free shipping when you spend more.

Is Mew Mews legit
Is Mew Mews legit seems to be a common question, as it is when you’re considering shopping from most new online stores. Especially when they’re not based in the US.
It has a trust score of 100/100 on scamadvisor and a green star rating with 66% 5 star ratings on Trust Pilot. From my personal experience I can say Yes it’s legit too. Everything came as described online and shown in the photos (see my what I ordered VS what I got video). Just read each product review for sizing and review their return policy.
