Vicci Eyewear Review: Are Their Sunglasses Worth It?

Last Updated on September 15, 2026 by Eve Dawes

Vicci Eyewear reached out to me and offered to gift me a pair of glasses from their lookbook, and their statement-making oversized frames immediately caught my attention. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I’m a fan of oversized, retro-glam sunglasses, especially tortoiseshell styles. I love the extra coverage and how easily they can make an outfit, so I chose the Solé sunglasses in Leopard Tortoise with polarized lenses. I’ve been wearing my Vicci sunglasses for three weeks now, so in this Vicci Eyewear review I’m sharing my experience with the quality, fit, comfort and lenses, along with whether I think they’re worth the price. Spoiler: if you love statement sunglasses and want that luxe-for-less look, especially if you need prescription lenses, I think Vicci is definitely worth knowing about.

Vicci gifted me these sunglasses, but as always, my opinions are my own. This Vicci eyewear review article contains affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you shop through them at no additional cost to you.

My honest Vicci Eyewear review

My first impression when I took my Solé sunglasses out of the box was that they felt substantial and well made, not like a cheap pair of fashion sunglasses trying to look expensive. They’re made from Italian acetate with high-strength hinges, and I love the gold detailing on the arms, which adds to that luxe look. They’re statement-making and oversized without feeling overwhelming on my face, and I’ve found them really comfortable to wear.

One of the things that also makes Vicci particularly interesting is the choice of lenses. They offer both prescription and non-prescription eyewear and sunglasses, including polarized options, so you don’t necessarily have to choose between fashion-forward frames and the lenses you actually need.

And as for whether they look expensive rather than just feeling it, I’ll let you be the judge from the photos!

What is Vicci Eyewear?

Vicci Eyewear is a fashion-focused eyewear brand specializing in statement frames, including both sunglasses and prescription glasses. A big part of the brand’s aesthetic is bold shapes rather than basic, purely functional eyewear, which is what initially appealed to me.

Many of its frames are made from hand-polished Italian acetate, and Vicci releases limited-stock collections rather than mass-producing every style indefinitely. The brand also has its own optical lab in Florida for its prescription lenses.

My Vicci Solé sunglasses review

I chose the Solé in Leopard Tortoise because they’re exactly the kind of sunglasses I tend to gravitate towards: oversized, retro-glam and tortoiseshell. They’re a rectangular shape rather than a classic round oversized frame, which gives them a slightly more modern feel while still making a statement. The Leopard Tortoise color was another big selling point for me. I wear a lot of neutrals, so tortoiseshell sunglasses are one of those accessories I find really easy to style while still adding something to an outfit.

Vicci sunglasses fit and sizing

The Solé is officially a large frame with a 145mm frame width, 52mm lens width and 16mm bridge. Despite being oversized, I don’t find them overwhelming, and they fit my face straight out of the box. I haven’t had to adjust the arms or nose bridge, and importantly, they don’t slide down my nose. That’s one of the things I was slightly concerned about with such a substantial acetate frame. Oversized sunglasses can look fabulous but become annoying very quickly if they’re constantly slipping or feel heavy after an hour. I haven’t had either problem with these.

Are Vicci sunglasses comfortable?

For me, yes. Despite being an oversized acetate frame, they don’t feel uncomfortably heavy, and I’ve worn them for long periods without them becoming annoying or uncomfortable.

The Italian acetate is also worth mentioning here. Acetate is commonly used for higher-quality eyewear because it offers strength and flexibility while allowing for richer colors and patterns than basic injection-molded plastic. Vicci says its Italian acetate frames are cut, polished and hand-finished.

Are Vicci sunglasses good quality?

Based on the pair I’ve been wearing, yes. After three weeks I obviously can’t speak to how they’ll hold up after several years, but nothing about my Solé sunglasses feels cheap. The acetate feels substantial, the hinges feel secure and the detailing is nicely finished.

That’s important to me at this price point. These aren’t inexpensive sunglasses, but they’re also considerably below what you can easily spend on luxury designer eyewear. I’m not interested in something simply looking expensive in photos if it feels flimsy when I pick it up, and that’s not been my experience with these.

Are Vicci sunglasses worth the price?

I think they are if you’re looking for statement-making eyewear and want a luxe look without necessarily paying luxury-fashion-house prices. The Solé retails for $280, and based on the Italian acetate, construction, design details and overall feel, I think that’s a fair price for the quality.

I especially see the value if you need prescription glasses or sunglasses but don’t want that to mean compromising on style. Vicci offers a much broader range of lens configurations than I’d expect from what initially looks like a fashion-first eyewear brand, including prescription, polarized and light-responsive options.

For me, the appeal is really the combination of the two: they’re functional eyewear, but they still feel like an accessory that makes an outfit.

Vicci Eyewear prescription and lens options

One of the things that makes Vicci Eyewear more interesting to me than a purely fashion-focused sunglasses brand is how customizable the lenses are. Depending on the frame, there are prescription and non-prescription options, including single vision, readers, progressives, bifocals, blue light, light-responsive and sunglass lenses. There are also upgrades available including premium thin lenses and hydrophobic coatings.

My Solé sunglasses have polarized lenses, which I chose for reducing glare as well as the darker look. I spend a lot of time in bright sunshine, so polarization is something I appreciate in sunglasses I’m actually going to wear regularly.

I’m also already eyeing up the Sofia Rx or Elia Rx with blue light lenses for working at my computer. I particularly like the oversized cat-eye shape of the Sofia Rx, and Vicci offers it in lots of colors as well as prescription, non-prescription and blue light lens options.

Vicci Eyewear shipping and returns

I didn’t have any issues receiving my gifted pair, and everything arrived as expected.

For U.S. orders, Vicci currently states that non-prescription frames typically ship within three to five business days. Prescription frames ship three to five business days after the lenses have been manufactured, with manufacturing itself typically taking three to five business days for single-vision prescriptions and seven to 10 business days for progressive lenses. International shipping is listed as seven to 14 business days, excluding prescription lens manufacturing time.

Is Vicci Eyewear legit?

Yes, based on my personal experience, Vicci Eyewear is legit. The brand reached out to me directly and gifted me my Solé sunglasses, which arrived without any issues and were exactly what I expected. Obviously I can only speak to my own experience, but if you’ve landed on this review because you’ve seen Vicci online and are wondering whether it’s a legitimate company before ordering, I had no issues with mine.

Who I think Vicci Eyewear is best for

I think Vicci makes the most sense for someone who sees their glasses or sunglasses as part of their outfit rather than purely functional eyewear. A lot of the styles are bold, oversized and statement-making, which is exactly what initially drew me to the brand. These are also the kind of sunglasses I’d reach for day to day, for vacations, work travel and city breaks when I don’t necessarily want to wear one of my designer pairs. I don’t feel like I have to baby them in the same way, and without an instantly recognizable designer logo, they don’t attract as much attention when I’m traveling. I still get the statement-making, luxe look I love without feeling like I’m walking around advertising an expensive pair of sunglasses.

I’d particularly look at Vicci if you want that luxe-for-less aesthetic but don’t necessarily want to spend designer-fashion-house prices every time you buy eyewear. I also think the brand becomes more compelling if you need prescription glasses or sunglasses, because you can still choose a fashion-forward statement frame rather than feeling limited to more basic prescription styles.

If you prefer tiny, barely-there or very minimalist frames, this probably isn’t the first brand I’d point you towards. For oversized, retro-glam and statement eyewear, it’s much more my aesthetic.

Vicci Eyewear review: My verdict

After wearing my Solé sunglasses for three weeks, my first experience with Vicci Eyewear has been really positive. They’re statement-making, comfortable and feel well made, and I love that I can get the oversized, retro-glam look I normally gravitate towards without automatically reaching for one of my designer pairs.

I think Vicci is especially worth considering if you want fashion-forward sunglasses or prescription eyewear with a luxe look without breaking the bank. Would I choose another pair? Yes. I already have my eye on either the Sofia Rx or Elia Rx with blue light lenses for working at my computer, which is probably the best indication of how I feel about the brand so far.
