I’m not exaggerating when I say that I went through thousands of Getty images from the Fall Winter 2024-2025 runway shows and read up on my fashion magazines online and off line to compile and share my top Fall style trend forecasts for women’s 2024 fashion trends.

1. Fall Accessories | Brooches and pins
Brooches and pins are in style for Fall 2024 fashion. They’re an easy way yo add your personal style and update any outfit. This is one Fall fashion trend to have fun with and really make your own. Whether it’s a classic brooch on a blazer or stacked sculptural pins on your coat.
I’ll be keeping my Chanel brooch to hand to add a glam touch to any outfit.
2. Preppy aesthic
Preppy everything is in for Fall 2024 fashion from footwear to clothing. Pleated skirts, plaid blazers, pencil skirts, blazers and womens loafers are still set to be a big trend and stay in stay for Fall fashion 2024.
3. Red everything
Say Hello to red for Fall 2024. We’re talking all shades of red being in style for Fall 204. From bright pillar box red to deep rich burgundy and oxblood.
As seen at Fall Winter 2024 Prada, Stella McCartney, Elie Saab, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent runway shows and earlier in The Row’s Spring 2024 collection. Red is set to stick around for a couple of seasons.
Whether you go for a pop of color or monochromatic outfit which was the most prolific ways red was worn on the Fall runways or red hoisery. The main take away is to embrace this bold hue.
4. 50’s style cocktail dresses
I just started updating my Fall wardrobe with these classic 1950 dress styles that ruled the Fall Winter 2024 runways. If you love elegant styles and a nipped in waist, this Fall fashion 2024 for ladies trend is definitely for you.
Embrace this retro style with a oversized petticoat style dress and belt it for extra waist definition. As seen at Dior, Bottega Veneta and Balmain.
5. Womens Fall Fashion Trends 2024 | Flared and full skirts
Flared skirts took over the F/W 2024-2025 runway shows in more wearable ways than you might imagine. Including leather skirts styled with button down shirts and funnel neck sweaters.
From unfinished hems to sculpted styles, opt for more fluid feminine styles that can be dressed up or down.
6. Pencil skirts | Feminine Fall 2024 Fashion Trends
It’s not the first season that pencil skirts have been in style. It’s one of those styles I embraced the 1st time but am not personally feeling this time. Pencil can either look incredibly chic and flattering or make you look even shorter than you are. They work great for chic office wear but since I don’t have an office job I’m skipping this trend.
7. Button down shirts
Fall 2024 women’s fashion trends wouldn’t be complete without a button down shirt. All shapes and colors of button down shirts found their way back on the Fall 2024 fashion show runways. Perfect to complete the luxe neutrals or preppy Fall fashion trends. From longer lengths, we’re talking floor grazing at Valentino to more wearable regular lengths at Dior and Prada.
Style your white shirts this season either with a black mini skirt and pointed toe ballet flats as seen at Prada. Under a pants suit as seen at The Row or as a dress as seen at Loewe and Valentino.
8. Cigarette pants | 2024 Fashion Trends
Cigarette, slim fit and skinny pants and jeans haven’t seen the light of day for a while. Since I own a pair of satin Gucci pants I can’t wait to get them back out this Fall. As seen at Khaite, Altuzarra, Jil Sander, and Del Core.
For this Fall fashion trend think pants suits or a funnel neck coat and play with proportions. Slim fit bottoms look best either with a looser top or a fitted top like a bodysuit but with a blazer or long line outerwear.
9. Classic Fall style | Voluminous pants
Wide leg pants are easy to create classic Fall and Winter outfits with. They’re easy to style over knee high boots and dress up for work or down with a t-shirt for the weekend.
For Fall 2024 look for colors like beige, red and black. The key to wearing voluminous trousers this season is to keep the look balanced.
9. Fall fashion outerwear | Ponchos
I loved this trend the last time ponchos were in and I’m always cold. So any excuse to bundle up in a cozy style I’m totally for. Whether it’s swaddling yourself in a scarf-coat, shawl wrap, or poncho, they’re a practical Fall/Winter trend that actually makes sense.

Turtlenecks and roll necks are a classic Fall neckline that’s back in fashion for 2024. Whether it’s a dress, top or sweater think more streamlined layering pieces this season. From longer lengths to cropped lengths and even fur trim. The important thing to note with this trend is to keep it faux. Real fur is well and truly over (and hopefully gone forever).

This fall trend is another practical one and outerwear is an easy way to update all of your winter Fall outfits. One shape that kept showing up over and over again on this Fall/Winter’s runway shows was funnel-neck silhouettes. As seen at Burberry, Stella McCartney, Chloé fall/winter 2024 collections in all varieties of materials. So find one that works best for the climate you live in.
15. Tailored blazers
I could never get into the oversized blazer and clothing trend. They drown my petite frame and I’ve always preferred classic tailoring. For this Fall fashion trend think hourglass shapes, rounded shoulders and classic tailoring. It’s timeless, flattering, chic and works just as well with jeans as it does with a suit. As seen at Del Core, Jil Sander, Bottega Veneta and Toteme.
Style them as a matching pants suit or over a slim fit turtleneck for the most on trend winter outfit this season.

16. Fall Shoe Trends 2024 | Court shoes
I’ve been wearing court shoes AKA stiletto heel pumps ever since I was a teenager as I thought they looked so sophisticated. I’ve never had an office job and yet I still have so many court shoes in my closet as I’ll wear them with everything from jeans and blazer to brunch outfits.
They don’t even have to be towering stiletto heels for Fall 2024. Kitten heels and flats are back in style too. Their elegant silhouette lends itself so well to other sophisticated winter trends like pencil skirts and cigarette pants.

17. Fall fashion accessories | Leather gloves
I’ve been waiting for long leather gloves to come back in fashion for ages. They just make everything look more fashion forward
The elevated, feminine, 1950’s aesthetic continues with leather, tulle and satin gloves. It’s an affordable and practical way to give your Fall wardrobe and outfits an update.

18. Leather
Leather and more leather seems to be the theme for Fall fashion 2024 from gloves to clothing to accessories. Leather is perfect for Fall fashion and we love it for it’s practicality and cool girl aesthetic.
This season, forget more rigid structured styles and think more buttery-soft draped styles. As seen at Proenza Schouler, Tod’s, Bottega Veneta, Gabriela Hearst and Bally.
19. Unexpected color combinations
If you’re feeling playful (or getting dressed in the dark) clashing colors are totally ok to wear this Fall. As seen at Gucci, Chanel, Molly Goddard and Rick Owens runway shows to name a few. So if you’re tired of monochromatic outfits, play around with combinations like yellow and pink, pink and red, or red and yellow.
20. Elevated trench coats
Trench coats are very much a wardrobe staple but for Fall 2024 think more along the lines of statement pieces than just neutrals. Use this as an opportunity to add trending colors for Fall 2024 like yellow or red to your outfits or even something sparkly for the evening.
The Fall trends I’m wearing and the ones I’m not
These are the 10 pieces I just added to my Autumn / Fall wardrobe. I’m pretty much down to wear all of the Fall fashion trends except for yellow which washes me out. I’ll probably also give peplum a miss this time around as I did it so much last time it was in.
However, you’ll definitely be seeing me in a lot of red, preppy and off the shoulder styles, hourglass blazers, funnel necks, belts, monochromatic looks and power outfits.
