The best adult acne treatments are something more and more women have been reaching out to me in private messages about. We’ve all had that occasional embarrassing zit that tends to pop up whenever we have something important planned or after that extra glass of wine or a hormonal breakout. So what’s the best cruelty-free acne treatments and products? Keep reading.
Whatever their cause, whether it’s your hormones, stress, pollution, the wrong products for your skin, over cleaning, harsh cleaning, food intolerances, or too much sugar, spots and acne is never welcome!

What are the best cruelty-free acne treatment for adults?
A good place to start with fighting adult acne holistically is:
- Reducing sugar
- Changing our skincare and laundry products
- Cleaning more gently
- Getting professional help with our hormones
However, this blog post would be a book if I write about them all. While cruelty-free beauty and skincare is my area, I don’t know enough about hormones to talk about them. So I’m just going to focus on these cruelty-free acne products that are our heroes when it comes to trying to get rid of spots as fast as possible so we can get on with our lives.
Start With Hygienic Gentle Deep Cleaning To Prep Skin For Adult Acne Treatments
Foreo Luna 3 which comes in 3 varieties for sensitive, normal or combination skin is a hygenic and effective way to deep cleanse skin twice a day. I was using a brush style version of this before but there were a few things I didn’t love about it. It had a super bulky charger, the bristles got dirty from my makeup, the brush heads need changing and I couldn’t travel with it as the brushes take too long to dry to pack.

It’s not just for acne prone skin, there’s different devices and masks for all skin types.

You can use your Foreo without the app but the beauty of the app for me is the massages! I’m not kidding, this is my new favorite part of my evening beauty routine.
After doing the quick 1 minute cleanse, you select the facial massage you want from eye contour to lip contour or full face contour massage which help your products absorb better. I’ve also been using the contour function in the morning before the morning show to help perk up my eyes.
Anyway, back to the cleaning which is great for adult acne. Foreo cleanses deeply and gently with soft silicone touchpoints and variable T-Sonic pulsations. It has silicone rather than brushes which means it doesn’t collect the bacteria and makeup like brushes and face cloths.
