Crystal bags and sparkly purses always come back out every holiday season. What’s a festive outfit without a little sparkle. It’s not just for the holiday season this year though. Metallic, high shine and sparkly crystal clutches and crossbody’s are back for both Fall Winter 2023 – 2024 and Spring Summer 2023. As seen at Fendi Couture Haute Couture, Chanel, Stella McCartney and Valentino whose micro crystal bags I’m swooning over. This femme accessory looks just as good with jeans as they do cocktail dresses and gowns. Think of it as your new neutral. There are so many fabulous sparkly handbags around this season that it was hard to narrow it down. As much as I adore the Balenciaga crystal hourglass bag, Coperni, Holland Cooper, JW PEI or one of the convertible clutch to shoulder bag options from Revolve are a lot kinder on the credit card.
I love the idea of convertible bags that give you 2 bags in 1. Which means that you can go from a clutch to a shoulder bag once you have a drink and canapés in your hands.
What to avoid when shopping for crystal handbags & purses
One thing to be careful with when it comes to crystal and sequin bags is that they don’t snag your clothes. You might want to avoid them when you’re wearing delicate silks or satin. Glittery bags work better with those materials than sequins or stones.
Should I get a silver or gold crystal bag?
There’s no right or wrong. It all comes down to personal preference and what you’re wearing it with. I’m normally a gold girl but most of my favorite sparkly purses this year are silver iterations.
Which is why I ended up with the Holland Cooper Mayfair silver crystal bag which is plenty big enough for my phone, sunglasses and makeup and has a detachable shoulder strap. Holland Coopers quality is always good but this bag blew me away and is the center piece of my closet right now.
I also fell in love with this silver crystal handbag from Reiss. If you’re looking for more of an oblong shape that’s less structured this is perfect.

Whether you’re looking for a silver, gold, black or colorful crystal clutch I searched for the best of them. It was hard to narrow down as I’m like a magpie and love all things sparkly.
There are lots of micro bags as well as more practical sizes including larger handbags as oversized bags are back for 2023. Saint Laurent does a stunning black sequin and gold chain bag that’s the ideal size for going from day to night.
There’s also quite a few Coperni and Prada crystal bags in this edit. As they’re some of the most popular brands for this style.

Think of sequins, crystals and sparkly purses as your new neutral for 2023. It doesn’t matter whether you’re creating a glam monochromatic look or laid back street style.
