Erdem, Jonathan Anderson, Michael Kors and Valentino’s Spring Summer runway shows showcased a plethora of sequin mini dresses and maxis. Along with AREA whose NYFW runway show was literally dripping in crystals. Sparkly dresses are set to stay in style for Winter & Spring/Summer 2023. Glittering details, 1920’s glam and sparkly dresses were all over the FW2223 runways, as seen at Giorgio Armani, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini and Chanel. So sequin dresses are very much in style for 2023.

You know I’m a girly girl, so have already been stocking up and wearing sequin dresses since last Fall. This one definitely needs double sided tape but it’s under $100 if you’re looking for a more affordable option.
Splurge or save on sequin dresses?
Sequin and mirror dresses are such statement making party styles they’re probably not going to get the most wear of your wardrobe items. So they’re not always worth splurging on. Unless it’s a classic style or gown that you’ll wear again or rental but it’s a trend that’s too pretty to skip. However, they can look tacky and shed so don’t go too cheap with them.

I may not be a flats or cargo pants girl but I’m most definitely a sequin dress girl. I have a few sequin mini dresses and gowns as I live in Vegas so there’s always something to get dressed up for and the pageant girl in me tends to be a bit extra.

These are some of my favorite styles around this season as well as a recent miss for me personally anyway. A lot of these sparkly dresses come in more than 1 color. Sequin dresses can look a bit cheap if you go for a fast fashion brand and some of these designer dresses are absolutely jaw dropping. These sparkly dresses are the best for quality and being on trend.
I have a ball to go to in England next Summer and one of the black and gold sequin gowns I have my eye on is this Bronx and Banco dress. I love this brand and know it’ll travel well.
The dress that didn’t work for me was the Retrofete mini dress as it was too plunging on my short torso. I also have curves so this style just didn’t flatter me and the straps aren’t adjustable. It looks stunning on the model though, so I think it would work on someone taller and flatter.

Michael Costello has the most stunning black and silver sparkly dresses in both mini and maxi length if you want to splurge. I’ve also snuck in one black sequin jumpsuit since they’re another big trend for 2023.

Absolutely! Sequin dresses and everything sparkly are in for 2023. They were all over the FW2223 and SS2023 fashion shows along with crystal embellished dresses and necklines. Yes! They’re another major winter fashion trends for 2023. The sparklier the better for this one and the pageant queen me is all over this trend.
Crystal encrusted handbags are also a huge fashion trend if a blinged out dress is too much sparkle for you. The key take away was to bring on the bling.

Sequin dresses are synonymous with everything feminine and glamorous but they can quickly go into tacky territory.
