Cartier mens, women’s and unisex fragrances review | Cartier perfume collection hits & misses
Cartier’s perfume collection is extensive and can be overwhelming. I’m breaking each eau de parfum and eau de toilette down to help you find the right one for you. Whether it’s a luxury fragrance from the L’Heure perfume collection created by Cartier in-house perfumer Mathilde Lauren, Oud or Pur collection. They’re all very different. From classic, elegant perfumes to pure fragrances like Pur Muguet, unisex, to mens to Cartier’s women’s fragrances. One thing they all have in common is how intense they are and how long wearing they are. So, if you’re looking for a soft, subtle perfume, these might not be for you.
Most Cartier perfume descriptions are poetic rather than being descriptive. So don’t be surprised if they leave you confused, we’ll discover their scents together so that you can find one you love.

If you like rose perfumes: Cartier L’Heure Diaphane eau de toilette from the Cartier Les Heures de Parfum Collection
Cartier L’Heure Diaphane eau de toilette is a predominately floral perfume with soft peony, rose, fresh lychee and amber wood that I would class as a Cartier perfume for women. I personally think it’s beautiful, elegant and surprisingly long wearing for an eau de toilette. It’s definitely a Cartier women’s fragrance that I would repurchase.
Cartier Les Heures De Parfum XII L’Heure Mystérieuse review | Spicy & intense
L’Heure Mysterieuse XII Eau de Parfum sounds rich, intense, spicy and heady from the scent profile and it is. It’s very incense heavy which is making it too powdery and intense for me personally.
L’Heure Mysterieuse Eau de Parfum notes:
- Jasmine
- Heavy Patchouli
- Elemi
- Coriander
- Incense
- Frankincese
- Juniper
Cartier II L’Heure Convoitee Perfume review | Floral & spicy
Cartier L’Heure Convoitee Parfum is another perfume from Cartier’s L’Heure collection by house perfumer Mathilde Laurent. They doesn’t really give descriptions of their perfumes, they give more poem like descriptions which can make them hard to decipher.
Cartier L’Heure Convoitee Parfum is described as a sensual fragrance that heightens the feelings of lust and connection and the fragrance notes are supposed to be Chesnut (crème de marron), clove, red rose, Iris, carnation, and strawberry.
The first impression is Iris, rose, carnation and jasmine. It’s a pretty floral, fresh perfume with a sweetness that’s not sickly. It’s balanced out with earthy, rich, warm, woody notes from the spicy clove, sandalwood and vanilla. The only thing I’m not sure about, is the fact that it turns slightly powdery.
If you love Lily of the Valley: Les Epures de Parfum | Cartier Parfum Pur Muguet review
If you’re a purist and prefer uncomplicated, less complex fragrances, Cartier Pur collection might be for you. There’s not much to unwrap in this one as Cartier Pur Muguet is designed as a contemporary fragrance that’s pure Lily-of-the-valley. Hence the name Pur Muguet which is French for pure Lily of the Valley.
It’s feminine, intense and long lasting but $280 is hard to swallow for such a simplistic one note perfume.
Cartier Oud & Santal Perfume review
Cartier Les Heures Voyageuses Oud & Santal is is definitely one of the most expensive Cartier fragrances at almost $400. Cartier’s Oud & Santal eau de parfum is a unisex fragrance that features notes of Old and Sandalwood which translates to a perfume that’s spicy, woody, slightly sweet and very masculine. It’s not for me, as I prefer feminine scents but my Dad loved it, so he’s now wearing it.

Cartier Les Heures Voyageuses Oud and Menthe perfume review
Cartier L’Heure Oud & Menthe perfume was released by Cartier in 2019 and is now discontinued and harder to find I did find it from one place though so I’ve linked that below.
It was designed to be a vibrant and refreshing fragrance for women and men with oud, amber and mint. Which leaves you with a musky and powdery fragrance from the Oud, then there’s some woodiness from the amber, and the mint doesn’t seem strong at first but gets stronger and stronger.
It makes it lighter and more refreshing than the other Cartier Oud perfumes and gives a little tingle in your nose. I would count this as a unisex scent for the day or night that’s a little medicinal smelling, very long wearing and hard to wash off!
