Move over The Row, Tory Burch Romy Bag Collection is taking over. Here’s why!
Tory Burch is back, and the Romy bag is everywhere! Spotted on celebrities including Emma Roberts, Aimee Lou Wood, Ciara, Jodie Turner-Smith, Michelle Williams, Eiza González, Suki Waterhouse, Barbara Palvin and Alexandra Daddario, these understated leather bags have become a celebrity favorite. From the oversized Tory Burch Romy Tote to the smaller hobo and crossbody styles, the collection delivers that effortless quiet luxury aesthetic without the four-figure designer price tag. I recently got my hands on the Small Romy Hobo in light cream, and here’s my honest review, including what fits inside, how it compares with the other styles and whether it’s worth buying. Plus, my bag is now on sale!

Tory Burch Romy Hobo Bag Sale
The Tory Burch Small Romy Hobo Bag I own is now on sale! If you’ve had your eye on this understated leather bag, it’s worth checking out the current offer. I chose the smaller size in light cream, and I love how practical it is for everyday wear and travel without being covered in designer logos.

Tory Burch is the epitomé of a luxe for less brand
You might not have noticed, as these newer designs fly under the radar. I mean, would you even know this was Tory Burch?! There’s no large Tory Burch logo. These bags are elegant and fall more into the quiet luxury at a better price category. We’re talking genuine leather and designer-inspired styling without the price tag of many high-end bags celebrities tend to carry.

I got my hands on the Romy Hobo Bag when it first launched, and I’ve been putting it to the test ever since. Keep scrolling for my review, including my favorite style, thoughts after taking it on a test run, how well it actually works for everyday use and which styles celebrities and stylists have been loving from this brand that’s committed to empowering women!

Is Tory Burch still in style in 2026?
Tory Burch is majorly back in style and gaining popularity again. Just Google celebrities with Tory Burch bags to see what I mean. Emma Roberts, Aimee Lou Wood, Ciara, Jodie Turner-Smith, Michelle Williams, Eiza González, Suki Waterhouse, Barbara Palvin and Alexandra Daddario have all been spotted with Tory Burch bags. Most brands go through periods of being in and out of style, but Tory Burch has undergone quite the style evolution in recent years.

I used to love Tory Burch when I lived in LA, but when we moved to Las Vegas, I stopped wearing it for some reason. Everything from the ballet flats to my Amanda tote seemed so 2008. I don’t know if it was because the brand wasn’t as popular anymore or because it just wasn’t my aesthetic.
So when I started seeing celebrities wearing Tory Burch bags again, I checked out their site and was so impressed with the new aesthetic. The newer designs are much more understated than the logo-heavy bags I remember. The quiet luxury vibe is perfect for everyday life, with practical, timeless and versatile pieces at a much more accessible price point than many luxury brands. Plus, the newer Tory Burch silver button is totally giving Hermès vibes.

The brand also has a strong focus on female empowerment and has supported other women through the Tory Burch Foundation, which was founded in 2009. The foundation was created to:
…advance women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship by providing access to capital, education and digital resources, and tackling stereotypes that hold women back. Tory Burch
Tory Burch Romy bags: Which style should you buy?
The Romy collection originally caught my attention because of the tote, but there are several styles worth considering. The collection has expanded beyond its original six designs, so there’s now more choice in sizes, finishes and silhouettes.
Here are the original core styles and their dimensions, which are useful for comparing the different bags.
| Style | Dimensions (H × L × D) |
|---|---|
| Small Romy Tote | 8.7 × 9.1 × 4.3 inches |
| Romy Tote | 11.6 × 12.4 × 6.7 inches |
| Small Romy Crossbody | 7.5 × 5.5 × 2.1 inches |
| Romy Bucket | 8.5 × 8.7 × 3.7 inches |
| Romy Hobo | 14.6 × 11.8 × 4.9 inches |
| Small Romy Hobo | 10.6 × 8.3 × 4.1 inches |

The Tory Burch Romy totes and bags come in a variety of neutral colors, including cream, black, brown, granite and Tiramisu, AKA tan, for a versatile, practical everyday bag. There have also been brighter seasonal shades, such as lemon soufflé, if you want something fun for summer.

Even the smaller Romy bags are a practical size, and they’re lightweight, unlike my Chanel 19 bag, where the chunky chains make it a workout every time I use it.
Tory Burch Romy Tote: The celebrity bag of the moment
The Tory Burch Romy Tote has been one of the collection’s standout celebrity bags, with Emma Roberts, Jodie Turner-Smith, Michelle Williams, Eiza González, Suki Waterhouse and Alexandra Daddario among the celebrities spotted with Tory Burch bags. If you’re looking for an understated everyday designer bag, the Romy Tote and Hobo are two styles worth considering, and they’ll do considerably less damage to your credit card than many luxury bags.
The tote has been available in neutral leather colors and a wheat suede. It’s sleek, elegant and minimalist, and the pebbled leather is more resistant to showing minor scratches than smoother finishes.

The only downside is that the regular tote can’t be used as a crossbody bag, as the straps aren’t adjustable. If you want a crossbody bag, look at the Small Romy Tote, Bucket or Crossbody bag instead, which have adjustable, removable leather shoulder straps.

Tory Burch Romy Hobo Bag review
The Tory Burch Romy Hobo was a new release when I first wrote this article, and it quickly caught on with celebrities like Aimee Lou Wood and Barbara Palvin. When I first started researching it, I hadn’t seen any celebrities with the bag because it was so new. Yet within days, it seemed to be everywhere!
The Romy Hobo comes in two sizes, the regular and Small Hobo, which I was torn between, but I went with the small. I already have a bag I use for travel that’s a similar size to the regular, and the small is still big enough for my everyday essentials.
When I first got it, I was kind of regretting not getting the bigger size, but when I saw my photos, I realized the small fits my 5’2″ frame better. It also fits my phone, sunglasses case, water bottle, protein bars, wallet, keys, tripod and makeup bag.

I went with light cream as I have so many black bags, and we were heading into summer when I got it. Now to keep it clean! It’s one of those bags you can take everywhere for both work and play, day to night. The neutral color also makes it easy to transition into fall and winter.

As much as I love chain straps, this leather strap is way more comfortable for carrying the bag for longer periods of time, and the marks chains leave aren’t cute. As with all bags, though, try to avoid overstuffing it if you want it to retain its shape.
It has a lobster clasp fastening but doesn’t have a zipper, so if you’re worried about pickpockets or things falling out, use the dust bag it comes with as a bag liner. Problem solved! Although it adds a layer of protection, I’d still be cautious carrying an open-top bag in crowded areas.

The strap is adjustable, so you can make it the length you want, although you’re not going to be able to make it long enough to wear it as a crossbody bag. If you’re looking for a purse with a detachable crossbody strap, look at the Romy Bucket Bag, Tory Burch Romy Crossbody Bag or Small Tory Burch Romy Tote Bag.

Tory Burch Romy Hobo colors
The Romy Hobo Bags have been available in light cream, black and Tiramisu (tan), alongside seasonal colors. My light cream version is particularly versatile, but black would be a practical option if you’re worried about keeping a lighter bag clean.

Is the Tory Burch Small Romy Hobo worth buying?
For me, the biggest selling points are its lightweight design, comfortable shoulder strap and surprisingly spacious interior. I also appreciate having an everyday bag that feels luxurious without attracting the same attention as some of my more recognizable designer handbags.
My main criticism is the lack of a full zipper. If that would bother you, the Romy Bucket or Crossbody might be a better fit.
And now that my Small Romy Hobo is on sale, it’s worth checking the current price if you’ve been considering one.

Tory Burch Romy Bucket Bag
If you prefer something that shuts properly so no one can see or easily reach inside your handbag, check out the Tory Burch Romy Bucket Bag. You can adjust the belted strap to change the size of the opening and secure it in place with the silver logo button, making it harder for people to reach or see inside.

It also has an adjustable, detachable strap, so you can carry it as a top-handle, shoulder or crossbody bag.
Tory Burch Small Romy Crossbody Bag
This Tory Burch crossbody bag is perfect for city breaks, running errands and anyone who likes being able to carry their bag multiple ways. It’s crafted from the same soft pebbled leather as the other Romy bags and has a more spacious interior than it looks, meaning you can even fit your smartphone inside.

Like the Romy Bucket Bag, you can adjust the opening of this version, allowing you to conceal your belongings whenever necessary. Also like the Romy Bucket Bag, the Romy Small Crossbody bag comes with a long, 22.2″ (56.5cm) drop adjustable, detachable strap.
Tory Burch Romy Bags conclusion
I can totally see why celebrities are wearing the soft pebbled leather Romy bag. From firsthand experience, I can say the Tory Burch Romy Hobo is lightweight, feels luxurious and feels more discreet to carry around than my Dior or Chanel bags with their obvious branding.
The minimalist design and neutral color are also unlikely to date. I’m definitely going to keep using this as a city bag and for travel, as it doesn’t have the obvious logos that most of my bags do, and it’ll go with everything. This is one bag that’s easy to throw a load of stuff in and go.
Although if you’re looking for a mom bag, like to carry everything or want to fit your laptop, you might prefer the regular Romy Hobo Bag or Romy Tote, which I also have on my wishlist, rather than the small version I have.
This bag has become a practical option for everyday use thanks to its spacious interior. I tend to use the interior pocket for my credit card holder to make it easy to find, and the light cream works with so many of my outfits throughout the year.

How to style the Tory Burch Romy bag
The Tory Burch Romy Tote and bag collection are relaxed bags that work best for everyday wear, the office, running errands or travel rather than being evening bags. After-work drinks, yes. With a cocktail dress, not so much. But they go with pretty much everything else, including loungewear, jeans, summer dresses and workwear.
For fall and winter 2026, I’d style my light cream Romy Hobo with dark-wash straight-leg jeans, black loafers and a fitted blazer. It would also look chic with a camel coat, cream knitwear and knee-high boots. For a more relaxed look, I’d pair it with leggings, a chunky knit and flat boots.
In warmer weather, the light cream is perfect with summer dresses, linen separates and neutral outfits. The slouchy shape makes it feel effortless rather than overly polished.

When considering which of the Romy bag options to go for, think about how you prefer to carry your bag, what size you need, what color you’re missing from your handbag collection or will get the most use from, and not just which style you like the most. Although that’s a big factor too!
The Romy Crossbody and Bucket Bag look very similar, and both can be worn crossbody. However, the Bucket Bag has a top handle, is bigger and has one interior pocket versus the Crossbody having two.
The good news is that you can now find selected Romy bags on sale (no code needed), including my Small Romy Hobo. It’s worth checking current offers before paying full price, especially if you’re flexible on color.
