If leather pants aren’t already part of your wardrobe, let me tell you why, once you own a pair, you’ll probably end up with two or three! Whether they’re real, faux or vegan leather, black or beige, women’s leather pants and joggers are incredibly versatile. You can style them for everything from work to date night, and they’re a lot more comfortable than skinny jeans. I throw my black leather pants on with everything from sneakers and a white tee to pumps and a blazer. I’m also sharing what I’ve learned about choosing flattering fits, particularly if you’re petite.

How to style women’s leather pants in 2026
I’d originally done ’11 ways to style women’s leather pants and joggers from casual to workwear to date night last year. They’re my go-to ways to style them for all occasions and to make them work from season to season to get the most *CPW. Which is why I ended up getting fitted leather pants and updating this to ’27 ways to style leather pants’.

27 ways to style leather pants in 2026
After seeing how popular my leather joggers styling video was I figured I do an update with 27 ways to style leather pants that are more fitted. With some new OOTD women’s leather pants outfit ideas and styling tips. Although all of mine are black leather pants outfit, most ideas work with most color leather pants.
- Style your leather pants in 2026 with mules and a blazer for an outfit that works to take you from work to cocktails. This is probably my favorite way to style them and most worn outfit idea.
- With pumps, a button down shirt or white tee and blazer. Button-down shirts are a classic style that you can wear year after year if your personal style is more classic.
- Head to toe leather is great for the Winter season and right on trend for 2026. It works better with a leather top and leather pants. As a leather jacket and leather pants can look a bit too much and can turn the look to biker territory really quickly.
- A monochromatic black leather pants outfit creates a flattering look that makes you look taller and leaner. It doesn’t have to be black, this look works well with all colors of leather pants including brown leather pants.
- Style your fitted leather pants with a sweater dress and knee high or OTK boots. Make sure they’re fitted as baggy pants do not work for this look.
- Create a sexy women’s leather pants outfit for going out with a feather top and leather trousers.
- Style your favorite crop top, with a blazer and pointy stiletto heels for a stylish cocktail or dinner outfit.

The reason I love leather pants so much is that they’re basically a neutral style that’s incredibly versatile and there are so many foolproof ways to style them. Especially if you order a black or beige pair. I have black faux leather joggers but just got a straight leg pair (photo above) and wide leg, slouchier pair as I know how much I wear the joggers.
For everyday wear, I love black leather pants with a crisp white tee, sneakers and an oversized blazer. It’s an easy combination that looks more polished than jeans without sacrificing comfort.
A denim jacket is another option for casual days. Black denim creates a coordinated outfit, while lighter washes give leather pants a more relaxed look.
When the weather cools down, swap your T-shirt for a chunky knit sweater and add ankle boots or loafers. Mixing soft knitwear with leather is a great way to make the outfit feel less dressy.

Style your women’s leather pants with a turtleneck sweater, crisp white tee or crop top and oversized blazer for the day. Black leather pants outfits look more chic than jeans and sneakers, and they’re just as easy to dress up or down.
When it comes to which shoes to wear with them, sneakers, boots, flats or heels all tend to look good. Sneakers are great for casual outfits, while loafers or pumps instantly make them look more polished.
Styling tip: If you’re wearing boots with them, make sure they’re fitted leather pants so there’s not excess material billowing over the top.
Wide leg leather pants are right on trend for 2026 and create a laid back chic look with sneakers or slides.
How to wear leather pants to work
Leather pants can work for the office, depending on your dress code. A crisp button-down shirt, tailored blazer and pumps or loafers make a polished combination that can easily take you from work to cocktails.
For a more understated outfit, choose straight-leg or tailored leather trousers with minimal hardware and a matte finish. Add a silk blouse or fine-knit sweater, and keep your accessories classic.
If you want to dress them up for an evening out after work, simply change your shoes, remove your blazer or swap your work bag for a clutch.

I love leather pants for the evening with a pair of killer heels, blazer and gold jewelry. If you’ve been wearing them with a crop top in the day, just add heels for the night and you’re good to go.
A feather top is another fabulous option for dinner or cocktails, while a fitted bodysuit and pointed-toe pumps create a sleeker silhouette.
If you’ve been wearing them to work with a crisp button-down shirt and blazer, just lose the blazer and undo an extra button.
How to style leather pants if you’re petite
At 5’2″, I’m always conscious of proportions, particularly with wide-leg pants. High-waisted leather pants are one of my favorite ways to create the illusion of longer legs, especially with a fitted top or cropped jacket.
If you’re shopping for wide-leg leather pants, pay attention to the inseam. Too much fabric pooling around your shoes can overwhelm a petite frame, so I prefer a length that works with the heels I actually plan to wear. I’ve been wearing these coated black jeans that look like leather a lot this season as they’re so easy to style and wash.
Ankle-length styles are another option, but always check the measurements. What’s cropped on someone taller might be full-length on you.
Leather joggers are particularly practical because the cuffed ankles prevent the hems from dragging on the floor. I also love fitted leather pants with pointed-toe pumps or knee-high boots for a streamlined silhouette.
What shoes go with leather pants?
One of the easiest ways to change the look of leather pants is with your shoes. The best choice depends on the cut of your pants and whether you’re dressing for the day or evening.
Sneakers are perfect for casual outfits, especially with leather joggers and straight-leg styles. For something more polished without wearing heels, try classic loafers with a white tee and blazer.
Pointed-toe pumps are my go-to for dressing up fitted leather pants, while ankle boots work beautifully with straight-leg and wider styles.
If you’re wearing knee-high or over-the-knee boots, choose fitted leather pants that sit smoothly inside them. Wide-leg pants generally work better over boots or heels, provided the hem is the right length.
For an evening outfit, mules or strappy heels can make leather pants feel instantly dressier without changing anything else.
Are real or faux leather pants better?
That comes down to personal preference, budget and how you plan to wear them. Faux or vegan leather pants are animal-free alternatives, although the environmental impact depends on the materials and manufacturing process.
Faux leather is often more affordable and can be easier to care for than real leather, which frequently requires specialist cleaning.
I’ve thrown my faux leather joggers in the washing machine over and over again, and they always come out perfectly. They don’t need ironing either, which is a major plus!
However, always check the care label before washing yours. Some faux leather coatings can crack, peel or become damaged by heat and inappropriate detergents.
Real leather can be a beautiful investment, particularly if you love its natural texture and the way it softens with wear. However, I’d prioritize the fit, comfort and how often you’ll actually wear your pants over choosing a material simply because it’s more expensive.
Are leather pants still in style in 2026?
Absolutely! Leather pants are one of those pieces I consider a wardrobe staple rather than a passing trend. It’s the silhouettes, colors and styling that change. Black leather pants are always useful, but brown, burgundy and cream are beautiful alternatives if you want something different. Straight-leg and wide-leg styles create a relaxed, modern look, while fitted leather pants and faux leather leggings are particularly practical for styling with knee-high boots.
Personally, I prefer investing in a silhouette that suits my figure and works with clothes I already own rather than buying a new pair every time the trends change. If you’re trying leather pants for the first time, I’d start with black. They’re easy to dress up or down and work with almost every color in your wardrobe.
