Gucci sandals for women were not on my shopping list last year but these high heels were love at first sight. Gucci women’s shoes aren’t my typical go to brand but as soon as I saw these sparkly black Gucci crystal double G sandals I had to have them and of course do a Gucci sandals review. I don’t even need black heels or any more evening shoes but they were just too pretty to miss. They did give me sticker shock though so am I regretting splurging on these designer shoes? Here’s my honest womens Gucci shoes review and everything you need to know before you buy. Gucci shoes for women | What’s in my closet
I say Gucci shoes aren’t my go-to designer shoe brand but I still manage to have 5 pairs in my closet right now. My 1st pair of Gucci shoes for women was a beautiful pair of Emerald green D’Orsay Gucci heel sandals I’ve had for over 2 decades. I don’t wear them much any more as I prefer a higher heel but they’re too pretty to bring myself to part with.
I also have black satin high heel pumps, an ivory satin and gold crystal horse bit pair of heels I wore for my wedding, a floral print and bamboo pair of Gucci D’Orsay peep toe horse bit heels and now these sparkly Gucci stiletto heel sandals.

These women’s black Gucci satin heel sandals with their stunning crystals are the perfect evening shoe but I’m kind of regretting spending this much on satin heels. Sating isn’t exactly durable material. These shoes are expensive even by Gucci standards but it was love at first sight and they were too pretty to leave on the shelf.
Of course new shoes means an obligatory Gucci shoes unboxing, review, whether I have buyers remorse and everything you need to know before splurging on these designer shoes.

Gucci high heel sandals | The details
It’s all about the details when it comes to these black satin Gucci high heel sandals. There’s a dainty ankle strap with Gucci’s iconic crystal Double G buckle detail.
There are stunning multi-sized crystals all over the upper of these 4.5” Gucci sandals for women which was the main selling point for me.
These Gucci high heel sandals also come in silver satin which looks more champagne/nude satin and not silver in person. As well as in the prettiest emerald green.
If these Gucci sandals for women are too high for you, there’s also the Gucci slide sandal with crystals with a lower 2.5” heel and the Gucci women’s slingback pump 1.4″ heel version if you prefer an even lower kitten heel.

One of the downsides is that the soles on these women’s Gucci shoes are really smooth so you may want to consider having them resoled with something that will give you more traction.

Gucci’s website says that these black heel sandals run small and to consider sizing up. However, I find they run true to size and even sized down half a size to a 36.5 as I have narrow heels and the heels gaped on the 37. The emerald green style say that color runs true to size. So it’s definitely best if you can try them on in person.
Gucci sandals for women review | Are Gucci sandals heels comfortable
Ok, we’re talking about 4’5″ stiletto heels here so I’m not going to say you can walk 5 miles comfortably in them. The sole is pretty thin and it’s not particularly cushioned but I managed 4 hours out to dinner in them with no problems. The sole is thick enough not to feel the floor and I didn’t get any blisters or sore spots. The ankle strap although dainty does give a decent amount of support without cutting your circulation off.
I’ve always found all of my Gucci shoes for women to be pretty comfortable as far as heels go. There’s lots of other designer shoe brands I’ve worn once and had to consign as they were so uncomfortable.
If you find high heels uncomfortable, give the Gucci slide sandal with it’s lower mid height heel a go instead. That style comes in black, blue and fuchsia.
How to care for your Gucci heels and shoes for women
When it comes to caring for shoes, especially satin heels there’s a few things to consider:
- Lighter colors are hard to care for and keep clean.
- Try to avoid driving in them or anything that could create friction on the satin,
- When you’re not wearing them, fill the shoes with tissue paper to help maintain their shape and absorb humidity.
- Store in the provided flannel bag and box whenever possible.
- Replace worn heels with the spare caps provided.
- Store in cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
It all sounds good in theory but honestly I like to display my shoes on my closet shoe shelves. I will try and keep them stuffed with tissue paper whenever I remember to though.

Are these Gucci women’s shoes worth it?
This is such a tough question as it depends on how much you normally spend on shoes, what you’re comfortable with and how much you’ll wear them. I was a little uncomfortable spending this much on evening shoes to be honest but quite a few places have these Gucci sandals on sale now as they’re a few seasons old.
If it was a style I knew I’d wear everyday they’d feel better value. Now I just need to make the effort to remember to wear them and get dressed up more. Luckily we live in Vegas so I can get away with being a bit extra and sparkly. Luckily they’re a classic style that won’t date as quickly, if at all. Versus if it had been something like platforms or a square toe that I’d splurged on.
