They catch the light beautifully without making the bag difficult to style, and the black base keeps it feeling sophisticated rather than overly flashy. I particularly like the gold chain against the black. It gives the bag more of an evening feel and works almost like jewelry with a simple outfit.
Despite the embellishment, I don’t think of this as a bag that can only come out for parties. I’ve worn it dressed up, but it also works with wide-leg denim, tailored separates and simple daytime dresses when I want the bag to be the most interesting part of the outfit.

I loved how glam the sequin version was but the Prada Re-Edition 2005 Saffiano leather bag was the one I reached for every day. I already have the Prada Saffiano tote which is still going strong after 15 years. It’s one of my favorite leathers for both looks and durability. I’ve taking it to meetings, lunches, dinners, and as a woman who doesn’t carry much around, it’s the perfect size. I tended to detach the shoulder strap with it’s cute pouch as it seems cute but didn’t vibe with many of my outfits. I feel like that’s better for athleisure wear and grocery store runs.
What Fits in the Prada Re-Edition 2005?
One of the things I like most about this bag is the size, especially as a petite (I’m 5’2″), it doesn’t drown me.

It’s still a small bag. It works brilliantly for my evening essentials, but it’s not designed to carry everything you might need during a full day.
Price versus material. If you’re purchasing rather than borrowing, decide whether you’re comfortable paying luxury pricing for Re-Nylon or whether you’d rather invest in leather. Borrowing both gives you the chance to see what works best with your wardrobe and lifestyle before committing to buying.
Why I Borrowed the Prada Re-Edition 2005 Bag Instead of Buying It
Borrowing the Prada Re-Edition 2005 from Vivrelle gave me the chance to see how often I’d actually use it and whether the sequin finish worked with more than just evening outfits. I loved carrying it, but I already own a black sequin Tom Ford bag with gold zipper details, so the two would fill a very similar space in my wardrobe.
I also borrowed the saffiano leather version to see if I’d use it more, if the stiffer leather would hold less than the slouchier sequin (they held the same amount) and to review it for you in case you’re torn on which to get.
