Everything you need to know about the Prada Saffiano bag, is it worth it?
Prada saffiano bags are one of those classic handbag styles that are hard to go wrong with. They come with a pretty hefty price tag but all designer bags do but I found mine at the Bicester outlets in the Prada bag sale. So why the Prada Saffiano leather shoulder bag versus all of the other shoulder bags out there? Here’s the pros, cons and a closer look in this Prada saffiano leather bag review.

Why I chose this bag
I was on the hunt for a white leather bag for Summer to replace my Versace white leather bag. I do own lambskin bags but I’ll always go for caviar, calf, bull or Saffiano leather whenever I can. Saffiano leather is a full-grain textured leather finished with a wax treatment which makes it so much more durable than a lot of other leathers. Plus it shows scratches a lot less and is easy to wipe clean while still giving an elegant finish.
The qualities of Saffiano leather were invented by Mario Prada himself, who first invented and patented the technique.

My black Prada Saffiano leather bag has lasted me over 10 years! It’s lost some of it’s structure over time as I used it so much but the leather’s held up really well.
I also prefer structured bags over slouchy bags. I just think they look more elegant. A bit like a oversized blazer VS a tailored, structured blazer. It all comes down to personal preference.
When I’m investing in designer bags I look for classic styles that will last, rather than seasonal fashion pieces. The classic flap style and gold chain are timeless features and mean it’s a bag I can use for both the day and night for more than just 1 season.

It also needs to fit my phone if I’m planning on using it for both a day and night bag which I was for this purchase.
Brand wise, I love Versace but wanted to change it up. Which is how I ended up with the white Prada Saffiano leather shoulder bag. Plus the fact it was on sale for almost half as much as I’d have paid in the US! As much as I love Chanel, it was hard to say no to this price.

I also can’t find this exact style anywhere now, so it’s nice to have something a bit different. This is the closest style I can find in Prada now which is the same white Prada Saffiano leather crossbody style. One just has a detachable shoulder strap and lower plaque placement which is a slightly different plaque style. So the review is applicable for both styles.

Prada Saffiano bag pros
There’s a lot of pros to this style bag:
- It’s more durable and long lasting than lambskin.
- Large enough to fit your phone.
- Classic, feminine style you can use for years to come.
- Shoulder strap is adjustable on the style I’ve linked.
- The magnetic flap style is easy to open and close.
Prada Saffiano leather bag cons
Honestly, there aren’t many faults I could find with this bag:
- If you go for white it marks more easily than other colors but that’s true for any white bag.
- Price.

How much does the Prada Saffiano bag cost
This depends on where you buy it as some countries are cheaper than others e.g. UK VS US. As well as the size and style. I got my bag from Bicester Village for £1240/$1603 but the saffiano bags tend to start in the Prada store for £950-5500 / $1350-7500 for the special edition Prada Galleria Saffiano tote bag.

Do I have any regrets buying this bag? Absolutely not! I love the gold chain and structured classic flap style and for this price point there’s not much else that’s comparable. Now to get the matching Prada shoes!
