Fall dresses don’t just have to mean sweater dresses, although those are on this edit too. There are so many stunning styles around this Autumn whether you’re looking for a dressy or casual Fall dress. From long sleeve midi dresses, to sexy and flattering sweater dresses to trending sheer styles. Forget predictable dull Fall colors and go for trending colors like bright pink, red or vibrant blue this year. Obviously black’s always a classic option but you can also go more glam this season as sparkly style cocktail dresses are also right on trend for Fall/Winter 2022-2023. Casual Fall Dresses
Casual Fall/Autumn dresses are one of the most versatile styles as you can wear either your Summer or Winter dresses with some layering and shoe choices. Summer dresses are perfect for Autumn with a pair of boots. On warmer Fall days, you can style them with a lighter jacket. On cold days you can layer them over roll neck sweaters and a heavier coat.
Sweater dresses are one of those essential Fall dresses you can never go wrong with. They’re also so easy to dress up or down with flats or heels, belts and accessories. I love the sleeveless styles for earlier in the season and then long sleeve versions even layered over tights or leggings later on.
For a more on trend look for Fall 2022, leave the bulky sweater dresses behind and go for more fitted, flattering styles.
Long Sleeve Fall Dresses
I tend to start the season in short sleeves and move to long sleeve Fall dresses as the season goes on. Long sleeves don’t just have to mean sweater dresses, there are some gorgeous shirt dresses that are really flattering belted as well as floaty styles like this long sleeve, yellow mini dress.
Lulu’s has some really great long sleeve floral, satin wrap dresses under $100. Floral wrap dresses might not be a major fashion trend this season but they’re always in style and a comfortable and classic look. They look stunning styled with knee high boots in a coordinating color.
Cocktail Dresses for Fall
If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you know more glam styles are my favorite, hence the name ‘Glamour’ (and Gains, which is for the fitness and business side of the blog). I’ve been stocking up on cocktail dresses for Fall this year as I’m all for the hot pink, sheer and sparkly trends going on right now.
A strapless midi dress made from thicker material like this floral dress makes a change from black and is easy to throw a coat over on cooler days. I find this style runs big, so size down if you can. Especially as it’s strapless and heavier fabric so you want it snug to stay up!
One of my favorite finds so far this season is this backless Michael Costello high, low, long sleeve Fall dress that’s so sexy but still elegant. There’s also a mesh panel at the front which holds the dress in place. It’s on sale right now and selling out fast. I find that it runs true to size.
Leather is a big trend for Fall Winter 2022-2023 and warmer than a lot of other materials. Leather on leather is also in style right now so don’t be afraid to wear it with leather boots and a leather jacket.
Another gorgeous cocktail dress for Fall is this hot pink velvet tube and matching gloves set. How perfect is that for Fall! Plus they’re another major Fall fashion trend. Revolve also sells matching pink pumps if you’re wanting to do a monochromatic look.
