The best sweater dresses for women for Fall Winter 2021 -2022 trending now
Sweater dresses are always my go to in Fall with ankle, knee high or over the knee boots depending on my mood. I love snuggling up in cute, cozy knit dresses as they’re so easy to throw on. Knit dresses are one of those versatile wardrobe staples that are just as good for running to the store as they are for work or going out just by changing your shoes and accessories. I find long sleeve and turtleneck sweater dresses a bit hot with a jacket and in some buildings in Fall so I also rounded up the best short sleeve, sleeveless and off the shoulder sweater dresses. As they’re the perfect transitional season piece.
55 Best sweater dresses to wear this season
I rounded up my favorite cute sweater dresses for this season including short sweater dresses from sexy to work appropriate. Turtleneck sweater dresses that are anything but basic, lightweight to heavyweight knit dress styles and trending off the shoulder styles. Plus some button down styles that are super easy to put on. Especially if it’s an outfit change after work when your hair and makeups already done.
12 Best sleeveless and short sleeve sweater dresses
I love a sleeveless cute sweater dress for Fall for layering. It’s so easy to throw on with a leather or denim jacket and flat boots for a casual look or a belt and high heel boots for a dressier look that’s warm enough but not so much that I overheat.

This years knit dresses are so much more interesting and flattering than last years. With cut outs, backless styles and colors that aren’t just black, white or beige. As well as some cool metallic knits which are trending this Fall Winter 2021/22.

43 Best long sleeve sweater dresses
Long sleeve sweater dresses are great for the cooler months. For snuggling up on the couch or in front of the fire or for cold nights out with tights and knee-high boots. The backless pink long sleeve dress is out of stock but you can sign up for the back in stock notice like I did. As this super cute sweater dress is top of my list as I have a thing for pink dresses. Well pink in general and this would be perfect for date night.
Off the shoulder sweater dresses are still in for 2022 which are perfect for being a little sexy without showing a lot of skin and still being able to stay warm.
What to wear with a sweater dress
Sweater dresses are such great layering pieces and such a comfortable dress choice so it depends a lot on the weather and where you’re going. In Fall I like to wear my short sleeve sweater dresses on their own or with a leather jacket. A short or long sweater dress goes with anything from high heels to ankle boots to knee high to over the knee for a night out.
I’m a fan of belts as I think they finish a look and create a better silhouette. Especially with tight ribbed sweater dresses as they can be hard to pull off and show every bump. A wide belt covers a little bit and distracts. Or if I’m trying to create shape with an oversized sweater dress.
Most of the photos above are great for styling inspo. A lot of these knit dresses are Revolve Best Sellers and sell out fast but if you’re not in a rush you can sign up for a back in stock notice. I love a belted white sweater dress with white boots for a look that’s brighter than black for grey days.
How to avoid getting makeup on your turtleneck sweater dress
I love turtleneck and high neck styles especially for when my tans fading off and the ultra cold weather. As long as I remember to dress before doing my hair and makeup.
A little trick for preventing your foundation and powder from transferring onto your turtle neck is to spray your neck with a little non-sticky hairspray. It works better than setting spray for preventing your turtleneck from wearing more of your makeup than you are!
