Converse high tops and skinny jeans? Yes, people are still rocking them. Here’s how to wear converse high tops with skinny jeans, lots of everyday outfits, do’s and don’ts on how to style high top converse from everywhere from fashion stylists to Reddit. I only recently got my first pair of high-top Converse sneakers which were a new look for me. So I instantly set out in search of lots of outfit ideas to make sure I’d wear my pair of converse and of course the jeans and high top look came up a lot. I have the white Converse high top wedges but these outfit ideas work just as well with the Converse flat shoes and low tops.

Best ways to style your Converse high top sneakers and skinny jeans
Some do’s and don’t for wearing your Converse high tops with your skinny jeans:
- If you want them to be visible roll your jean cuffs so that the jeans sit right above the high top.
2. Balance proportions. Skinny jeans normally look better with a looser fit on your top half so it’s not an entirely skin tight look.
3. Don’t be afraid to add a pop of color and to play with color e.g. bright chucks or a bright top.
4. If you’re Converse are patterned keep the rest of your outfit simple and vice-versa.
5. Skip overly baggy jeans: Slim fit or skinny jeans tend to look better than long baggy jeans which end up just looking sloppy with Chucks and covers them too much.
6. Cropped skinny jeans mean you can see the top of your high tops.
7. Lace as normal but skip the top few holes and tie under the tongue so you can see All Star on the tongue.
8. Do add your own personal style with the belt, bag and jewelry you style your outfit with.
9. Don’t be afraid to make the look more glam and feminine. It doesn’t have to be punk.

Here’s some outfit ideas to get the most wear out of your converse shoes. You can also recreate a lot of these looks with denim shorts instead of jeans for Spring/Summer.
Double denim
Double denim is still in style and still one of my favorite outfits. It’s an easy, casual but on trend outfit idea. Whether that’s jeans and a denim jacket or jeans and a sexier denim bustier top.
Make sure the denim washes are a perfect match for the most cohesive, put together look. Don’t feel like you have to just wear blue denim for this look. It works just as well with white or black denim too.
Classic Converse style
For classic Converse style for the warm weather you can never go wrong with jeans and a t-shirt.
Add a moto leather jacket over your t-shirt for an edgier look. It’s probably my favorite way to style Chuck Taylor All Stars for a casual look on cooler days.
On trend smart casual outfit
Style them with cropped skinny jeans, a bralette top and blazer for a balanced look with a smart casual element.
Transitional season
Skinny jeans + high top converse + a long oversized coat like a trench coat or faux fur coat adds texture and retro glam.
Layer a shorter sweater over a tank top for easy layering.

For a more athletic look, wear your skinny jeans with a sports bra, bomber jacket and baseball cap.

If you’re looking for a new pair of high top sneakers I’ve rounded up the best selling Converse high tops right now, some of my favorite skinny jeans including Mott & Bow as I love their fit and amount of stretch they have.
If you’ve never owned Converse and are wondering if they’re comfortable shoes, I’ve heard the flats aren’t very comfortable as the soles are so thin. They’re definitely more of a ‘look’ than athletic shoes. However, because the wedges have a super thick sole and are a chunky sneaker, I personally find them really comfortable but suggest sizing down half to a whole size in that style.
