The flat boots we’re loving as a Fall-Winter must have
Flat boots, especially black flat boots are one of those Fall Winter essentials that never go out of style. Are flat boots in style for Fall Winter 2023
Yes, flat fashion boots and even Wellies are a big part of Fall Winter 2023 fashion. While platforms and heels are still in, flats will always remain a shoe staple even if the style of what’s hot and what’s not changes from year to year. Keep reading for the styles trending this season.
What flat boots are most in style for FW 2023
For Fall Winter 2023 some of the the flat fashion boot cuts and styles seen at Chanel, Bottega Veneta and Off-White were:
- Western boots
- Flat thigh high boots from slouchy (Isabel Marant) to skin tight (Balenciaga).
- Shearling boots (I’m opting for faux not real).
- Pointed toes
- Stylish Wellington boots (Chanel). Yes, even Wellies, which solve looking stylish and being practical on rainy days.
While you can never go wrong with black flat boots, don’t be afraid of taking some risks with bright colors, chunky soles, patent leather or over the knee and thigh high iterations this year.
The pointed toe is also making its way back for 2023. Replacing the square toe for our fall Winter footwear. Which I’m happy about as I never really loved the square toe.
I just ordered 2 pairs of pointed toe high heel thigh high boots. Consider sizing up half a size when ordering pointy styles, especially with winter socks to make sure they’re big enough.
25 styles on my favorites list right now
From designer to styles under $50, these styles range from classic to what’s trending and new this season. I tend to be more of a classic style girl when it comes to flats like the Sarah Flint flat boots below. Then play around with heel trends more.
Some of the styles on this edit like the Cowboy styles do have a slight heel (under 2″) as they don’t really make them as true flats.
Best designer flat boots for women
A lot of these lust worthy designer flat boots are on sale, like the pair from Jimmy Choo and Fendi riding boots with 60% off. You know how much I love a good sale find. Others are new season and utterly stunning.
If you’re going for a classic vs an on trend pair like thigh highs, they’re worth considering investing in if you know you’ll get good CPW out of them. Dior makes one of the most classic and stylish black flat boots.
Best flat boots under $250 without sacrificing style
I’ve had the Sam Edelman pair in the past and they’re super comfortable. I got a good few years wear out of them before they went in the trash including putting them through shopping trips with lots of walking in NYC.
If you don’t want a knee high, flat ankle boots are an easy and practical shoe to slip on for everyday.
How to style women’s flat boots
This style is perfect for creating comfortable everyday looks. Flat ankle boots and knee high versions tend to go well over fitted jeans and leggings. Here’s more detailed styling tips for knee high boots.
Over the knee styles work with leggings and jeans as well but also look super cute with mini slip dresses and floaty summer dresses as a transitional season outfit or sweater dresses when it gets colder.
I tend to wear my flat black knee high boots for work in the day and then switch to high heels for going out.
