Aprils Beauty & Fashion Finds
It’s already up in the 80’s here in Las Vegas. So the April edit, fashion fix and shopping list is SPF, skincare and Spring/Summer accessory focused. Including restocking some of my old trusty favorites to keep more of a sunkissed look without actually tanning and my latest discovery I’m using everday – Supergoop glow screen. As well as some high heel braided mules that will go with all of our summer and spring outfits. The nude heels I have from last season are more for the evening and a bit too high for running around everyday.

1. Supergoop Glow Screen SPF40 PA+++
I did a lot of research and reading of reviews before deciding on Supergoop Glow Screen SPF40 as a face sunscreen to try. Some make me break out or are too thick and leave a white residue behind. I also like products that multi task to save time. Also, so that I don’t end up like an oil slick with too many products that can slide in the Summer.
I’ve used Supergoop’s SPF setting spray before and like how it smelled and worked plus it’s a cruelty-free brand. I ended up choosing Supergoop glow screen for those reasons. As well as the fact it’s non-irritating, vegan, reef safe, is an SPF and primer in one and leaves a pearlescent glow. It also doubles as a liquid highlighter. If you’ve been watching my Instagram stories, you know I’ve been moving away from my beloved powder highlighters. They’ve been settling in the fine lines around my eyes and I find them really aging.
This wasn’t meant to end up as a review post but here we are as I have too much to say about Supergoop Glowscreen. A little goes a long way, it’s non-greasy and creates a really lovely glowy base. I’ve also been using it on non-makeup days as it takes away redness and creates a more even skin tone and texture. I’m not sponsored by them, I just really love this multi tasking sunscreen.
2. Iconic London Prep-Set-Glow Limited Edition ‘Gold’
I’ve been using Iconic London’s hydrating mist, primer setting spray for about a year in the shade ‘Glow‘ which is a beautiful bronze. It contains light reflecting properties that leaves the skin glowing not sparkling and is also cruelty-free and vegan.
I just discovered Iconic London’s limited edition Prep Set Glow Gold version which I think I love even more. It’s in the April edit instead of ‘Glow’ since you can get Glow year round and the Gold is limited edition.
The application instructions say to to use it before moisturizer, then as a finishing spray and to refresh throughout the day. I personally use it as the last step before doing my makeup, right after my glowscreen. But try both ways and see which works best for you.
I then use it after I’ve done everything except my mascara so that it doesn’t make my mascara smudge. This hydrating spray’s great to either throw in your bag for freshening up in the day or kept in your fridge for a cooling mist on hot days or when you’re feeling puffy.
3. FakeBake Beauty Bronzer
FakeBake is cruelty-free and paraben free and I’ve been using this bronzer since I discovered this brand at a gifting suite in NYC in 2018. It’s highly pigmented, long lasting and easy to blend. I use it to contour my face as it’s a beautiful deep chocolate color. You can then use your regular blush and finish by using the Supergoop glow screen as a highlighter.
4. High Heeled Braided Mules
I can’t do kitten heels as they make my ballerina calves look disproportionate but killer heeled braided mules I can get behind. I looked for wider straps that wouldn’t cut in and the softest leather for comfort. Soft leather tends to give more when your feet swell in the heat.
The carousel at the top has the 3 high heel mules I narrowed it down to. I thought I wanted nude or white to go with everything but the pink are so pretty that I found it difficult to decide.
These nude heeled braided mules are the ones I ended up with. They’re $30 and come in beige, baby blue and purple.
If you’re good on heels and need or prefer flat slides, these are the 19 best fashion forward slides I could find for 2021.
5. Layered Gold Necklace
Layered gold necklaces are still in fashion in 2021. There’s just something so laid back, vacation-vibe but feminine about them. They really compliment a v neck bodysuit or floaty summer outfit. I found this one from Ettika who reached out to me last year to work with them. Their affordable styles are always really beachy, golden, boho and good quality.
