Why do Yoga Nidra Meditation?

More people than ever are suffering from insomnia and stress which is a part of life. Unfortunately, there’s no avoiding stress, only managing it! It’s how we deal with it that makes or breaks us, that makes us run or work through it, that’s most important.

It’s about trying to feel blessed not stressed and finding ways to deal with stress not run away from or ignore it.

Life is full of uncertainty, stress and emotions and finding new stress busters, coping strategies, and ways to get a good nights sleep have become even more important.

I’m not talking about lighting candles and breathing but on a more action-based level to create positivity and progress, not shrink away from overwhelming tasks.

People are having more trouble sleeping now than ever and looking to find ways to relieve stress. I know I for one really struggle, so I wanted to find and share more ways to destress and get a better nights sleep.

I started meditating about 18 months ago and was connected with today’s guest Catherine via Julie (the founder of the English organic skincare company Juno ).

I thought she’d be perfect to talk to us about Yoga Nidra which isn’t yoga as we think of yoga on a mat, but is known as yoga sleep which is essentially a meditation and conscious relaxation practice.

Blessed not stressed

I had to remind myself with the recent changes to my business that I’m blessed not stressed. Which reminded me of the blessed not stressed podcast episode I did a year ago, around a similar time when I was working through being overloaded. It’s under 15 minutes long and full of tips you can start doing today, so have a quick listen the next time you’re in the car or have a few minutes.

A year’s gone by and I’m blessed to have so much to do but sometimes that festers into stress trying to accomplish everything and pivot into uncertainty. I have to constantly remind myself to flip my mindset back to a positive and productive one and deal with each task one by one, methodically and systematically.

  • I found the above post to be useful. I am struggling with sleep problem for many years. I must listen to your podcast on yogas. I haven’t heard about Yoga Nidra ever before. Hope it helps to get rid of the sleep disorders. Visit the site to for some medical help for sleep disorders.

    • I’m always looking for new, natural ways to help fall asleep. I use different kinds of meditations. Yoga Nidra isn’t my personal favorite but I know others who love it. It’s all about finding what works best for you and helps you switch off and relax the most.
