Bag trends for 2024 and the trending purses for 2024 are an easy way to update your Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter 2024 wardrobe. These trending handbags are the ones I see the most often on Vogue, the runways, fashion blogs and influencers that don’t have a wait list. Most trends start from the designers runway shows like Fendi, Prada, Chloe, Dior, Gucci, Cult Gaia, Jacquemus and more. However, some are more affordable styles the influencers and stylists have adopted and that have gone viral. These 2024 bag trends are stylish and give us all the shopping therapy we need during the dark Winter months. I’m so excited for this years, especially this Summer’s fashion, trending purses and accessories to brighten up our wardrobes and moods. It doesn’t even have to mean buying something new but even bringing an old style that you might have tucked away back into rotation.

This beauty of back to work style briefcases is that they’re big enough for your phone, wallet, keys and makeup essentials and they instantly elevate an outfit. I’m keeping my black Prada saffiano tote out for 2024 (which was my most worn bag in ’21) to rock this 2024 bag trend.
For a more affordable option of this trending handbag, this waterproof black leather bag with gold hardware is under $50 and has a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap.
2. Oversized bags | Supersize it
Bag trend alert! Set to be one of the biggest bag trends for 2024 as it’s the most practical of the Summer bag trends. The XL oversized bag trend is going to be huge (excuse the pun) for 2024. The most on trend extra large bags are designer, like Saint Laurents maxi shopping bag but there are also some super cute luxe for less options that work for this purse trend.
Versace, Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent are 3 of the biggest trending brand names for XL tote bags with Dior and Chanel always being classic options. Look for details that make them more unique like luxury embellishments, gold hardware, acrylic handles and monograms.
If you’re looking for a large work bag and travel a lot for business, this classic, non flashy leather tote even has a strap on the back to slip over your carry-on handle.

3. Bag Trend Alert 2024 – Envelope clutches
The envelope clutch trend hasn’t been around for while but it’s back for 2024. It’s such an easy way to add an elegant look to any outfit. We’re not talking glam evening clutches, although those are in too. We’re talking ones large enough to work for everyday but small enough to still look sleek.
As seen at Tom Ford, Max Mara SS24, Dries Van Noten, Shiaparelli and Chloé. It’s a bag that pulls double duty and takes you from day to night. Saint Laurent has some chic patent iterations to nail this 2024 bag trend. Along with Alexander McQqueen who has some edgy but chic, fashion forward options for this trending handbag.
4. Trending purses summer 2024 – Red bags of all shades.
Red everything is in style for 2024 in the World of fashion. Including red bags which are set to be a purse trend for summer 2024 and for most of the year. As seen at Gucci, Bally, Acne Studios and Valentino. While not all of us can afford the beautiful red Hermès bag Sofia Ritchie Grainge and Leone Hannes have been toting around there are lots of other options.

It took me a while to adopt this trend as I’m a girl that likes to tote around her life with her! However, once on board I never looked back. After all, how often do we even put our phones away. While I’m not ready to go as micro as Chanel’s coin purse.
I’m totally down with Jacquemus or Versace’s tin silver top handle bag and my Chanel vanity bag holds way more than it looks like it would (phone, light, wallet, keys).

This is one of the easiest handbag trends for 2024 to adopt since most of us already have 1 or 10 in our closets. Whether it’s a metallic logo, Dior charms or chain shoulder straps chain detailing is big in bag trends for 2024.
Combine 2 bags trends in one with a classic quilted Chanel with chain straps, a Dior quilted bag with gold hardware or an envelope clutch with a detachable chain shoulder strap like Saint Laurents.
I’m swapping out my Versace plastic chain strap for the gold chain strap and bringing my Saint Laurent wallet on a chain back into rotation.
