Yes palazzo pants are in style for 2025. They’re one of those eternally chic trousers that always have a place in resort wear and our summer wardrobes. However, this year we’re also seeing more structured looks that are made for stylish office wear.
Palazzo pants were popular at a lot of the 2025 fashion week locations including Paris, London Milan and New York. Including:
- Structured styles in Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring/Summer collection
- Light weight fabrics and less structured palazzo pants at Christopher Esber.
- Fabulous brighter palazzo pants at Duro Olowu, Fendi and Giambattista Valli.
My absolute favorite was the blue satin palazzo pants at Fendi which were part of a slinky matching set.

They’re basically the same thing and although there are differences between palazzo pants and wide leg pants the terms really just get used interchangeably. If you want to get into specific wide leg pants tend to have a more relaxed fit, although we’ve been seeing more structured, front pleated styles on the runways. They’re normally have a straight cut from thigh to ankle rather than flaring out and come in a variety of fabrics.
Whereas, Palazzo pants tend to have more fabric and flair from the waist down versus flares that flare from the knee down. They also tend to be made of breezier fabrics like silk or chiffon which is why they’re often associated with resort wear. Honestly don’t overthink it, no one will judge you for using any of the terms for any of these styles of pants.

The wide leg pants for 2025 are more chic than your Mums jeans from the 70’s. Think solid color palazzo pants in billowing materials, white wide leg pants, structured style suits with crisp pleats in luxe fabrics or matching sets. Although wide leg and flared jeans are replacing your skinny leg jeans this year as well.
Just when you started accepting the high waisted pants, low slung pants are back. Don’t worry, high waisted pants and paper bag waists aren’t out but the low slung style gives us more options.
I personally like to have both options. Low slung for when I’m dining out so I have room to eat and high waisted for when I’m wearing crop tops or shorter length tops to close the gap.

There are so many ways to wear and style wide leg pants from casual to work to a night out. A crop top and low slung pants is a bit too much midriff for me. I’ve been enjoying Terry’s chocolate orange too much and the bread and cakes in Europe. For a more casual look style them with sneakers and tank tops, tees or bodysuits. For more of an everyday smart casual look swap your sneakers for wedge espadrilles or strappy sandals.
